Balnakiel beach, there are 2 beaches, the second one (past the dunes) is always deserted and ideal for some naughty fun on the beach or in the dunes

A lovely wee spot in Brora just as you go over the bridge from the South take the first left along the road to the Heritage centre.

Also try Latheronwheel Bay which is stunning.

Everywhere on the west is a delight but Skye isn’t very welcoming to motorhomers though officially not on the NC500

Skye is welcoming. Its biggest industry is tourism. Where they(locals) have resentment is people en masse parking where they like, leaving rubbish, emptying toilets, not spending money at the local businesses (most campers are self sufficient). Couple that with every available property being bought up by investors and Air BnB’d (more self sufficient holiday accom) so their young can’t get in the housing ladder and have to move away, and you’ll get why it may appear unwelcoming. I’ve always found the people there lovely and will do anything for you. It’s a two way thing though.

absolutely spot on .it same in most coastal towns nairn included you get out what you give .treat the place with respect and the locals will reciprocate

You missed out refusing to pull over to allow the 20 vehicles stuck behind you while you tootle along at 30mph, the Italian campervan 19 vehicle convoy that visit every year and travel in a convoy and cause chaos.

Inability to use a passing place. Inability to reverse. (OK, these two are mainly hired in campervans)

Parking up overnight in cemetery and local hospital car parks. Blocking off the main road because you want to turn into the already overflowing filing station.

Apart from that, there's no issues

If you’re a Beatles fan the John Lennon memorial garden in Durness. He had family in the area and used to go there on holiday as a child.

Took a bit o finding. Doesn’t even say what it is. If it wasn’t for the word ‘imagine’ on the top I’d have been none the wiser
