How wild are you going? I enjoy going down to Loch Doon or St Mary's Loch for a night away

Just looking to get away for a night somewhere quiet and secluded. Not decided on a place or area yet so all suggestions welcome

We've got a quiet spot, with lovely scenery. Not quite fully 'wild', but you can have a campfire and it's very peaceful.

Have a look at the profile xx

Depends how far you like to travel. Loch Awe is our favourite for wild camping and fishing, we go a good few times a year.

Depending on your network no phone signal, hardly see anyone bliss

Island of Tiree looks amazing, I've just ordered myself a roofbox tent for the car.

I've had lots of great night camping in the trossachs... if you don't mind a walk / hike / ride, there are lots of great locations that aren't subject to the restrictions! (Which seem to cover the areas you can drive to!)

Thanks guys lots of good recommendations. Was just for an overnight where we could pitch the tent, set up a fire and just chill out for the night

Glen Etive has some great spots. We had a great location not far down the turn from Glencoe... had a good parking spot that wasn't a passing place then an embankment down to the river and big flat bit between the embankment and the river. I can't post map links here but there is multiple good locations on the road

south of Inverness, and often Wck too

Remember if you are turning up at a location close to the road, and/or in large numbers, and/or with large numbers of people, and/or with large tents and camping furniture you are not wild camping and have no right to be there under the access code.

Large numbers of campers have been causing problems in Glen Etive and other areas, and it is they who will be responsible for us losing our rights to wild camp if they don't start showing respect for the areas they visit.

Be part of the solution and not part of the problem.

Well said, you should only bring with you what you can carry by walking or cycling.

Then you'll find quiet places to yourselves and stay within the spirit of wildcamping.

No use looking for somewhere you can just drive to and expect it to be deserted.
