Only in nightclubs and pubs usually, not hotels.

Some where over the rainbow!

Currently at the Hilton no bouncers the door.

I think I'd be worried if there were bouncer on the door of the hotel as in what goes on in there that need big bouncers.

Maybe bouncer was the wrong word to use.

Security checking people entering after a certain time were actual guests of the hotel would've been better.

Only time I’ve come across this was in Aberdeen. Never in Glasgow so far. I presume one of you would at least be a guest. Shouldn’t be an issue.

Only ever experienced this at one hotel when there was a party night on, even then I think it was more to stop people randomly walking in off the street, flash of 1 room card and they didn’t ask any questions.

When we check in we always ask for an extra room card. Then if we bring anyone back we give them a card before we go in. If we get asked if we are all residents ( more likely to get asked if your a couple with a single guy) we can give a quick flash of the cards and reception thinks we have 2 rooms

We had it on a meet with a couple in Motel One in Glasgow. Luckily we were both staying in the hotel, so no issue

First time ever saw this was hotels in Newcastle, the ones I’ve stayed in all had security at door at night checking details of people coming in

Right fun spoiler

I'm a hotel night manager and while few hotels have security, most city centre hotels will do some form of check if you are walking in after a certain time. Usually just a flash of the key is enough but some may dig deeper.

I no longer work in the city centre but from a recent experience, if you get caught out, be respectful and don't argue the toss.... you won't win
