ok

here goes

we are just back from our winter break

we have nothing against kids but every time we go on a plane we always seem to get placed next to families with very young kids ,that seem to whine from take off till landing .it is obvious on these flights that the children are not comfy in flying (why do the parents take them )

why should a nice relaxed break be shattered with crying kids for 4 . 5 hours at a time ? no offence meant at all to the children on the planes .

unfortunately children don't come with remote controls. While it may be annoying for you, think how embarrassing it is for the parents having to listen to people tutting and moaning about their children.

While the child may not be comfy on the plane, I struggle too sometimes. The parents are perfectly within their right to buy plane tickets for their family to travel abroad. Who says they went on holiday? They could have been visiting family etc!

Bose noise cancelling head phones and an iPod are the answer.

First thing I do on a flight, when permitted to do so, is put my earphones in to block out the noise of everything, whining kids and loud adults.

I'd happily pay a little extra to an airline to fly on an adults only flight.

We feel your pain as that happens to us but saying that we have always brought our boy with us on holiday as we are a family and would never leave him at home and yes he yapped on the plane when younger so what its what having a family is like and we would have it no other way we could not leave him with someone else what would be the point of being a family otherwise.

so your whole holiday is shattred because of crying children ?crying or whining childern can be a little annoying but it certainly doesnt impact on the fun time i have while on holiday 4/5 hours is nothing more than a short inconvieniance nothing more

Ok here goes. Why is it everytime i go on holiday with my young children i am always stuck next to some moany whiney couple who think they have booked first class? Tolerance is a virtue. Get over it. Oh yes .... And no offence meant to all the intolerant moaners

i am assuming the op is a childless couple and has never had a child that crys in public places ,its all part of growing up,learning .

Also wonder if you are voiceless as to never piss off any adults with your moaning when you were a child as i know i would have.

Kids are kids its a daunting thing for them being caged up for hours with being able to run about ,and as said above d*unk adults are more rowdy and off putting than any child ,i know what flight i would rather be on

the op is lucky they have never sat next to me or mini me on a plane because they would have gotten a right mouthful if they had started a skippy the kangaroo impression.

Dont like your seating, upgrade and pay more for a first class ticket then. Dont pay the extra, sit in the cattle section

On the flight home last yr a wee boy say and cried and screamed for what seemed like ever...parent's didn't help by growling at him to shut his efin mouth and be quiet, it's the parents that annoyed us more than the child, if they had played or read a book to take his mind off getting belted into the seat he would have been fine....put ipod on listened to loud music and read ma book!

They do holiday hotels now for adults only, why cant they do the same for flights?

A little kid behind me screaming for 4 hours is not a good start to a holiday.

As for paying extra... why should i?

I take it you have no children because if you did you would know how the parents feel when their child is crying and making a scene. And you would not be on here telling everyone about it.

Most parents are very conscious that the people around them can hear and see everything their child does.

People who complain about it or stare do not help with the already anxious parents which in turn do no good for the kids.

Book first class next time. Problem solved!

however far too many parents either ignore or are completely oblivious to their little darlings screaming or kicking fuck out of the chair infront , then get all offended when you say something.

I have been known to ignore my kids when they kick off. Normally it's in the privacy of my own home but has been known to happen outwith. I can't be doing with tantrums and I will not fuel their behaviour by attempting to get them to stop. If you ignore, they are more likely to stop as they realise they don't have your attention and they have to try a different approach.

I haven't taken my son on a plane yet, but he's "loud" and would likely have most people tutting at being disturbed. I won't apologise for his behaviour, he's a typical little boy and as long as he isn't being rude or cheeky then I see no harm
