"Just wondering if anyone planning on going? I’ve not been in a few years for various reasons, would like to go but would prefer company if possible especially if anyone I already know is going? Would also appreciate any tips for attending, best times to go to which parts etc? Perhaps things best avoided? In order to have the best experience. " I will be out that weekend. The Saturday is the march, but the whole weekend is fabby. There's always a lot girls from the swinging community go out for the party atmosphere

"Happy to meet up somewhere. Not sure about doing March as it doesn’t seem well organised plus I’m booked into cjs so it might make for a very long day! But happy to meet in town lunchtime/afternoon ? Anyone up for that and if so where n when? " I would like to take part in the march, as long as its a celebration. If it turns into a political rally like London did, then I will bomb that out and find somewhere friendly to hangout

"Controversial question and I mean no disrespect... But what's the purpose of the march? " Once a year celebration of the LGBT community. And those outside the community showing their support. This year's theme is the celebrating woman in pride

"Why do they have pride marches exactly? " Historically it was to celebrate the community and their struggles to be accepted. And, as the name suggests, to show they are proud of who and what they are. Nowadays? Many would argue it's for spicey straight people to have a fun day out and for the corporate world to show how right on they are. Regardless, have a good day to all who are going.

"Why do they have pride marches exactly? " First pride was to celebrate Stonewall. The gay movement. It's evolved over the year. Normally been a celebration, but is becoming a bit too political. But still a fun weekend /month

"Why do they have pride marches exactly? " The original purpose of the pride march was held to mark the anniversary of the Stonewall Riots and what they achieved. The GLF was the first organised group in the aftermath of the riots and they encouraged lesbians and gay men (Pride was originally Gay Liberation marches before being called Gay pride and now Pride) to fight for gay liberation and gay rights through direct action rather than the more covert support group style of groups like the Mattacbine society before it. The Stonewall Riots was the first organised direct action protest by the gay community and one that had lasting success. The pride march was started to celebrate that. Now? Well, everyone knows what it is now.

" This is a very good point to a question that often sparks argument. I personally have no opinion on the Pride marches. I wear a pride watch, not for the gay community but for the aspect of equality, acceptance and non judgement. I honestly couldn’t give a shite if your gay, bi, queer, straight or a floppysexual bipolar parrot identifying as a giraffe on weekends. If you are happy, I am happy and that’s just the way i strive to live.

Get ready and see if I can make it there by 12. Been joking in group chat re weather but would I be ok in ballet pumps shoe wise do we think? I’m thinking to add leggings and cardi to dress and take a light coat and brolly? Just to be on safe side. If anyone knows me or thinks they recognise me please do say hello! Anyone defo gonna be at start of March can maybe tell me on here where they are/are going to be at the green? Happy to exchange phone number/WhatsApp by pm to get/stay in touch and find each other today. Happy pride day all!!
