Our eldest does terribly.

Over the years we tried absolutely everything until we were advised to go to the doctor and ask for Fexofenadeine.

Know it sounds dramatic, but it did literally change his life.

You can buy Allevia over the counter which has Fexofenadeine in but does work as well as the prescribed medicine.

Locally sourced honey. That’s honestly your answer, it works. I’m always a pure snotter bomb but started the local honey during covid and I hardly ever need a piriton now.

I get severe reactions when the pollen count is high... well I did until this Saturday just gone.

Loratadine & Cetirizine based tablets do nothing for me...

Just got some of the new Fexofenadine based tablets (120mg) and within about 90mins after taking one my symptoms disappeared...

For me these are the best thing since "sliced bread"

"Treathay" 120mg by Galpharm £4.67 for a 30 tab pack.

The Allevia are just a very expensive "brand name" variant.

The doctors may prescribe a stronger dose, 180mg if required.

I have to take strong prescription tablets nasal spray and eye drops . The honey only works for mild hay-fever. A tiny bit of vasaline rub to the inside of the nostrils really helps it catches the polen before it goes up .

I haven't been too bad this year, I thought perhaps Scottish pollen was less aggressive than Irish! It's the first I've had to buy eye drops though but an absolute life saver!
