naming timewasters

Should genuine people on fab be allowed to name timewasters and fakes on fab without a threat of being banned suggestions please xx

Been suggested alot as unfair on the gen ones, but define a timewaster as they may have genuine excuse for not being able to meet and that would be them badly tarred? x

All depends what one person thinks is a time waster another might not all depends on circumstances.. But if its a blatant time waster yes name and shame

The ones you arrange to meet who don't turn up,or don't stay at that address text you when your in car park,or when they arrive at the door show you a pucture of the wife who had to go out,but will I do instead lol xx

Probably an idea to check them out as well. Sometimes we see verifications that all seem to go round in circles. That always makes us a bit suspicious

This is to open to abuse ..... all you need is 1 person / couple not to like you , they then post that your a time-waster and get thier friends to go along with it and post similar comments ...... and before you know it YOUR reputation goes down the toilet.

Think this one is best left the way it is now.

And who is going to be the judge of the accusation. Just because someone says someone else is a timewaster doesnt mean to say they are. There are a lot of devious twisted people on Fab just as there are a lot of good ones. False accusations would be flying in everytime someone got upset

No, the only thing to do is report them. If admin receive enough messages about the same people then they will deal with them.

Veri-circles can be explained by other things though; we don't publicly show some veri's, so the only one we have at the moment is a friend we know on here, ad we also verified her; does this mean we're fake? No.

On the few years we've had a profile/been lurking on here, I've noticed you can tell generally the genuine from the timewaster, and the talkers from the do-ers very quickly...

Although there are of course always the nervous newbies (that would probably count us, although we're not that new, or nervous, since we're up for most anything) who think they've plucked up the courage, then bottle it at the last minute...but a few kind words will be a lot more use there than a name and shame.

Feel quite bad on this actually, since we had to back out of a party the day before last weekend. That wasn't a nerves issue tho, gutted to miss it in fact, mrs.scots managed to put out her hip Fine now, but not up for fun on the day...next time...

Naming timewasters is open to all sorts of abuse.

A few couples don't like you, they call you a timewaster. You can't meet right away, they call you a timewaster. Someone takes the hump when you knock them back, they call you a timewaster. You meet then decide they're not for you for whatever reason, they call you a timewaster.

Naming and shaming will never work as there are always 3 sides to every story.

Block them and move on.

Only downside is you delete a message and they 1 star you, a few more 1 stars from deleted folk and overall it looks like your a timewaster/nasty etc with 1 star

I think the simple delete and block method is probably the best way to deal with a time waster. It's quick , simple and does exactly what it says on the can.

Word of mouth is as dangerous as naming for all the same reasons.

You meet a popular couple/single and you decide they aren't your cup of tea, suddenly people start dropping from your friends list because the popular couple have told their friends a pile of shite about you.

Trust us, it happens!

don't think name n shame is the right way unless really sure - like could be from the record etc lol (although not funny!!)

sometimes just life throws things our and I think especially if you are a couple and more so if have kids - cant predict and have to call off at last minute - its life and real life sometimes has to take over from a hobby nice hobby it may be

but we all have to deal with every day things and I honestly think it is more so as a couple and if they have children so we consider that and would not call time wasters xx just life???

I was contacted continually one morning for a meet, arranged a time location , turned up no show.

Sent 2 messages no reply, then called him a time waster , got sharp reply saying couldn't find location and to stop the patter, so I just blocked gave no reply I think it was a fake as had no verifications.
