Sometimes when people organise a social with the hope of attracting more people to attend, there are always 2 or few people commenting on the post saying such things as:

I love to attend but i will be away on holiday

or

Its my grandma's birthday on that date.

Who give's a "F" of u not attending coz the organiser only need positive responces.

What other negative comments have u come across?

I wouldn't class that as a negative comment. It's showing interest in the social and explaining why they won't be able to make it.

How do you know the organiser just wants positive comments. They may want people to post they can't make this one to gauge interest for future events.

Maybe these people are regulars at socials and the organiser was possibly expecting their name to go down for said social and by them posting lets the organiser know they did see the forum post but cant make it

Perhaps people had already expressed an interest but since saying they could attend something has cropped up and they can now longer attend and they are letting the organisers know ?

In fairness to the poster......personally I wouldn't comment on a "social" post other than we would like to attend, but in saying that what is a "social" these days.
