Im sure theres a sparky around who can help. We required a plumber a wee while back and before I knew it they were all over the place, every time I turned I was expecting to see another one, but got the problem fixed and now my piping is all in perfect order lol

I have similar problem cx fitted a new 10.5kw shower so have to upgrade my electrics yes I fitted it myself

What is wrong with the switch? Is it a pull cord that isn't pulling properly? Is it jammed? Changing it is soooo easy to do if it's a faulty switch. All you have to do us switch off the power and make a note of which wire is where before you take it off and hen put the new one back exactly the same way. If you have trip switches on your fuse box like you should have then it will trip out if you get it wrong

The thing you have to be careful with when replacing high amperage equipment is make sure the terminals are correctly tightened , if not arcing can occur which can lead to a fire

make sure you use 10mm cable and a 45amp rcd for a 10.5kw shower

Just a little word of warning, good old health and safety have made it illegal to do the work without being qualified, however, just replacing a simple switch is still a bit of a grey area so just make sure there are no health and safety nosey bastards behind you if you do it

It is not illegal to do DIY electrical work. But depending on what you do it may ne notifiable. The HSE will not get involved in a private dwelling DIY job. It boils down to whether you are competent to do it. This of course is down to your own judgement
