This is something I think is under utilised but for those who have socials I have a question,

Which kind of social do you prefer more:

-hot drink/coffee social

-an alcoholic drink social at a pub

-food social (there is some who do this)

-group socials/pre drinks

Be nice to see what everyone preference is, personally, group socials I have had most enjoyment at but if it’s 1 on 1 hot drink/coffee for me.

I think a good social would be great but completely agree with on situation and time. It is all preference but think it’s a great talking point!

The eating one is an odd one but I can imagine some enjoy it.

Yeah coffee socials are great! Haven’t done a drink in a pub yet (well not 1 on 1)

Tea/coffee social for 1 to 1 easier to end quickly if it's not going well. Can always have a wee cake if it is going well.

I enjoy organised socials too... who doesn't like a cheeky night out

Mostly coffee or early drink socials here but I’ve had food and other types too. Depends on the person and the conversation. As long as it’s relatively public for a 1st 1-1 that’s fine by me. A number of reasons I do this and it suits me well.

Personally would prefer a coffee in the afternoon or drink or cocktails on the evening. Hate eating in front of others (even with the Mr after 4+ years!). A wee cocktail or drink is good because it can calm the nerves especially as an anxious person, and coffee/tea taste homely and comforting so can ease a situation when meeting a stranger

I have seen quite a lot just go hung ho hence why I said it’s under-utilised. Still think the social side is the best part of as it you click the meet will be great!

Agree with the coffee/tea and can see how a wee drink would calm any nerves. It’s nice having conversations in a relaxed environment usually allows folk to come out their shells more

I usually get a coffee with someone, depending on where we go maybe even a walk too but just a walk somewhere public. I often meet socially on my own, think it gives a good indication if you will get on or not more than just messaging.

I wouldn't be keen on going for a meal with someone I've never met before - plus if it was an awkward type of meet, it's not so easy to get out of.

I've done the pub drinks once so that's not a great gauge to go by lols.

Coffee/tea and cake had been my main social preference +/- a nice walk. Also met up for a walk too (all public areas for safety reasons)

There’s also the safety aspect, as a single woman I need to feel comfortable with someone before I meet them privately be it at theirs or mine. Certainly wouldn’t want to give my address out to a virtual stranger.

I find it also s out those who would be embarrassed to be seen with me in public as an older/larger woman, if they won’t be seen with me in public they don’t get to see me in private.

And also tends to out cheats too, that I’m not interested in meeting.

So a lot of reasons why a 1st social is the way to go.

For me coffee socials have been the best.

Group socials are good for getting yourself out there though.

1000000000% agree with the out of cheats. I love socials, you get to meet and get to know new people, if there isn’t a click then who knows hopefully you have made a friend: hence why I feel it’s massively undervalued part of the lifestyle with a lot of new people thinking this is a dating site

I would always have a social before any kind of meet. I believe the more you know of someone the better both will be.

Totally agree, I’ve made amazing platonic friends through fab too. Some started off as potential meets/fucks and for whatever reason things didn’t pan out that way, but we’re still friends. Be adults about it.

No it’s not a dating site but I’m also not just a sex doll, I’m a person with their own desires and dislikes etc rather too many (mainly men it must be said) need to learn this. Rather than moaning they can’t get meets.

My go to is a meet with an alcoholic drink. I tend to find the environment is easier to relax in as a coffee meet can be that level up in terms of a more formal meet.

Definitely not a dinner meet as that’s very formal and interview like if face to face.

Coffee socials and a nice chat to see if click face to face as much as chatting online. Many a time the online chats been great but felt nothing when met for a social. Unfortunately I’ve found many aren’t up for socials and not interested unless you are wanting nsa meets with no effort put in

Don’t feel it’s under utilized, if you are happy to meet for fun straight away that’s your prerogative and saves the hassle of trying to align diaries twice which can be difficult at times

Don’t get me wrong, every where is different and everyone has different situation but I love the social side of the lifestyle and even if you don’t play, you can find you have a friendly face to chat to or have a drink with

I actually really enjoy the social side of swinging nearly as much as the play side I’ve enjoyed some excellent socials and find that you benefit from getting a feel for the person you are meeting x

Also have one on one socials usually for a coffee but it has sometimes been food as well.

Coffee is my preference, because you can go elsewhere from that coffee (i.e. a pub or something, mind out the gutter please!) or politely say "see you again soon/have a pleasant evening". I'd not do food unless it was lunch maybe

Our monthly drinks socials are always well attended with a good mix of singles and couples, many who come along regularly and have become friends.

It's a great way to meet others from the lifestyle with no expectations other than to chat. If you click with someone then you can keep in touch and make other plans to meet again for shenanigans

As others have said someone may be totally different in person to how they come across in messaging
