A single guys DILEMA

So I joined this site in approx 2008 after meeting a couple in After8 from a a previous site that died. At least you git a reply back then. So i did a reverse search for guys looking for a couple to see who was successful. Guess what? About 3% are. So I reckon there is just too many guys on here chasing a few couples. Sign of the times.

If you ran stats for messages from men containing abuse, harassment, threats and all the duplicate / fake profiles that figure would be so different. 3% might be about the portion that don't meet those criteria.

But don't let it put you off.. we would love to have some single guys to have regular NSA fun with, but it feels like we are looking for a needle in a haystack...almost all of our interactions with single guys have been messages along the lines of "Wanna fuck" or just unsolicited dick pics. Guys who put a but of effort into their pics and bio always get our interest, and we aren't offended if there's no interest from the guy...that's just life, isn't it

It's harder for guys to find someone to play with, because they have a bad rep as it is... Women like to see and know who they're talking to, where as men don't seem to care.... For me, anyone who doesn't have a face pic, has a reason for that, so I will not even entertain them... As well as the abuse we get from single guys cos we ask for a face pic, or don't reply Wen they are not our type.

I am sure there are a small proportion of single guys that get lots of meets just from the site.

However, having been here (and other places) for a while, the only advice I can give is to get out there to socials and clubs, meet people with the only aim of meeting people, not to play, that can come later if you click with someone, that said, yu might be surprised just how quickly things can progress at a club or a social afterparty.

I think that many single guys, particularly younger guys, treat this site like it's just for sex and not about a lifestyle. What many want is dial-a-shag, and are not prepared to put the effort in to go to socials and clubs to actually meet people, where they'd probably have a higher success rate. And they don't understand why it's not working for them.

The problem is, there are many, many guys like that and it's exhausting ing through all that to try and find someone decent that matches what you're looking for. To the point where I have found myself getting stricter on which messages to answer. I no doubt have missed out on some decent guys, but why should I answer one liners or what comes across as a lack of effort when chatting? It's mentally draining.

I can totally understand where women are coming from, I'm sure they get bombarded with hundreds of messages a day, lots of them being crude and so it must be extremely off-putting for them to see a message from a single guy in their inbox as 90% of the time it's a waste of time looking at the message due to its dire content

See when i message people i tend to keep my first message light, short and pref abit funny to establish mutual interest. Just being mindfull that women recieve a million messages a day and might just not read anything longer.

Not to disagree with your methods, my gf is on here so i know what a ballache inbox management can be (lol) but maybe sometimes guys are sending one liners to not come across like a mad creep too?

Possibly so. However, if I received a message like the one you say you send, that would get my attention more than just 'hi wot u up 2?' I also hate text speak, just speak proper English

We were in Edinburgh today and posted about meeting someone within walking distance of the city centre, some guy gave us dogs abuse because we wouldn’t drive 4 miles.

We came on the train. Our profile says that we don’t drive.

It states on our profile that the male runs this account, she plays on Twitter and Reddit, most of our messages start with ‘Id love to fuck you!’

And our profile says that we hate ‘txt spk’ yet we get ‘How r u?’

I know it isn’t every single guy, it’s a lot of them though.

While posting this we got a message from a single guy.

It was;

‘Hey yous good?’

Bejeezus!
