Random ask.... anyone had an old key style prepayment electricity meter replaced by a smart meter recently? Was it hassle free and was there a long wait time?

Thank you in advance

E.K . Glasgow

Just an additional thing with new smart meters you can switch suppliers they’ll still work . One draw back is they can remotely shut you off for unpaid bills . No need to access house . They can also be made into prepay meters if the company want to reclaim money due .

If it's pre pay the smart meter will remove your daily standing charges

Got ours from Scottish power recently, what the don't tell you is the gas one is fecked.

Broken until they can fix them so only the electric one gives automatic reads.

The gas one is only a meter really the smart part of smart meters is ALWAYS the electric meter that controls everything.
