What do you guys think is the realistic travelling distance for a meet up?

I'm guessing guys is 400 miles, girls probably a bit closer....

During the summer I could definitely see combining a few days away chilling and sightseeing with a few hours/overnight stay for some naughtiness with a member who doesn't live round the corner....

Lol! Distance is definitely relative! When I was based down in the home countries, 15-20miles was a bit excessive; within a mile or so, perhaps a bit too close. Now I’ve moved back up to the Highlands, there are very few mutually acceptable contacts within say, 70 miles.

But I remember this when I first moved south; people felt that driving 30 miles for shopping was unacceptably long distance; and yet we used to drive (or walk) 10 miles for the nearest pint/pack of cigarettes/ newspaper.

Still a friend of mine who was based in the middle of the Kalihari desert for a number of years, used to think that a 200mile return trip was worth it for a pizza!

It’s all relative!

30 miles each way is far enough for me. When on holiday I just check who's near by and have arranged some great meets.

I think it depends on the person and the connection you have with them. I'd like to meet locals but sometimes I've just really hit it off and become good friends with people further afield, it just means making a weekend of it rather than a few hours

Depends what you're looking for.

If all you're interested in is a one and done then all that matters is what's mutually convenient at the time.

If you're looking for something more regular then the logistics of travel + accommodation + availability are going to be cumulative factors that are going to be trickier to navigate

30/40 miles is the most we’d travel.

I'd only travel an hour away, max. But would prefer it to be less than that

DUMFRIES

When I first joined fab I did a 140 mile round trip to Stranraer for my first ever meet. Soon after that I did 100 mile round trip to meet someone from Craig's list (when they still did personals). Now given the cost of stuff I'd mebbe do a 40 mile round trip, especially if just a one off. If it were to be a regular thing I'd like something a little closer

I travel throughout most of Central/Southern Scotland for work so I think if I made a genuine connection with someone I wouldn't mind too much where they stayed within an hour or 2s drive of Edinburgh because chances are I'd be in the area regularly anyway.

I'm not sure we even have a limit

We travel for leisure, staying in hotels, enjoying everything the area has to offer. We turn it into a break for ourselves, the meet is a bonus. We plan to visit a couple we are fab friends with in Portugal in the spring, we also visit a couple in Egypt when we are on holiday there. Suppose we are lucky to have the time & freedom to do it though. Would be nice if there was more swingers in our local area for regular meets

Already been said, but it's relative. For me, it's about time spent driving or in the summer, riding the motorbike.

I'll travel further for folks who I like and form a bond with. Less for those that's a one-off. Something I do less off, now.

For a couple of years, i regularly travelled to north of Dundee, to visit a cuckold couple.

And let's not even start on the price of petrol lately, 40 miles and above from now on will be seen as a compliment if someone travels to me, its a financial investment at that point!!

Although I've paid halvsies and in full for hotel rooms in the past, chucking in for petrol would feel a bit like 'paying for services'.....lol

Think I'd still offer though..! X

Travelled 450 miles to meet a guy I met on the internet. Didn’t work out but made a friend for life out of a chance encounter at the youth hostel I stayed at. We’ve been besties for over 10 years now!

Yes, I totally agree: the planning is so much fun. I mean, talk about extended foreplay!! Finding a suitable sexy hotel room/ pied a terre, working out

the travel plan, seeing what’s worth while nearby: it’s all part of the excitement and anticipation. Such a delight. I mean generally half the things you might consider actually happen, but the preparation, checking out those nearby, looking at clubs that you might visit are all delicious even if you don’t take up the opportunity. Absolutely fabulous! x
