Maybe not "just" looking for that but in the main, yes that's what I've been doing this year. Getting out, meeting new people, making friends I can go to events with and honestly it's been the best year on here I've had! And still had plenty of fun

I think this will happen naturally as we go to the clubs and socials more often and get to know people. You aren't going to be sexually attracted to everyone and there will be some people who you just click with in a friendship way.

I know we're are open to socials to meet like-minded people and also socials with the hope we click and can have some fun!

I met someone from here JUST for a coffee at the Fort and it was really nice. Was good to get out the house and chat away to someone I've never met before.

Something I'd like to do more of if the opportunity came up. We didn't even talk about sex, it was just an hour and a half long blether lol!

The social aspect of fab is just as good as the sex, sometimes the socials are better than the sex too and it can still be a good friendship without the fuckery

I absolutely love the social side of fab, finally got my weekends back and have been to the last two Aberdeen socials. Such an awesome group of gorgeous people, really friendly and welcoming. I have had an absolute blast on those nights out.

I even view going to the clubs as social nights, I mean its great if I click with some people and have some fun but I never go expecting more than a good social.

Have also been to some great socials down in Edinburgh when I was based there including a camping trip; which turned into a night a big country house due to weather.

It's always my first piece of advice for newbies, go to socials and the clubs.

One in particular where we can get together and have a laugh & we’ve also had a few lovely holidays together and are going away next year again .

I should also add, as per the original post, fab friends is totally where it’s at in some ways. It’s not always about the sex. Sometimes just having an adult conversation with people who share the same lifestyle/views is all you need.

I’ve definitely made friends here by attending organised socials and 1-1 socials, makes fab life more enjoyable when there are people you can just chat to without any expectancies

Even during lockdowns we touched base with each other making sure everyone was ok and reaching out when we thought anyone needed a chat

When I first joined Fab 11 years ago, I had a few messages who ridiculed me for wanting more of a social side rather than just meet up and play. I’m now pleased that I ignored them and went on to organise regular socials and as a result I’ve made some lovely friends that I’ve known for years as well as new friends.

I have been on short breaks with one of my Fab friends and we’ve been to numerous shows and events together.

I know the social side isn’t for everyone but it has helped a lot of us through difficult times.
