Why do people hide their profile do they have something to hide or is it just paranoia or trust issues ? .

No need to think the worst. Lots of people hide their profile to take a break from messages coming in or just take a break from the site. That's what I do sometimes anyway. Nothing to do with paranoia, trust issues and definitely have nothing to hide (except their profile obviously) and definitely no reason for you to suspect something shady x

Because they don't want to be seen for a while. Everyone has their own reason for doing it, doesn't mean it's anything dodgy.

I hide mine periodically when I want to take a wee break and not receive new messages. Sometimes you have to take a break when real life ramps up and fab isn’t a priority. It’s better then deleting a profile and restarting.

Several legitimate reasons why for example ours was hidden for several years due to long term ill health and recovery afterwards and not being in a position to meet as a couple x

Ours is hidden due to the amount of messages we had coming in, mostly single men. Then family life changed so we weren’t able to arrange meets so was easier to hide the profile and chat to the ones we want to talk too at the moment.

I hide mine on occasion either to take a break or when I want to just chill.

The abuse you get for daring to hide your profile is crazy.

Fair enough if I had messaged when hidden but sometimes get you are a fake, cheater etc when I have not even spoken to the person lol

Why would you think that ?? .. Have you heard of discretion ? Taking a break from here ? Maybe they have met someone ?

You can still message and converse with hidden profiles.

Not everybody is brazen and happy for their friends / brothers / sisters etc to potentially find out they are on a sex site ..

Mine is currently hidden,because I needed to take a break for personal reasons. In my opinion it's better to hide profile and take a breather than delete and keep making new profiles.

Personally the only thing I've done is make the above comment but I haven't done any of the other things you've listed.

It is personal choice though and no one has the right to tell anyone else what they should and shouldn't be doing. What works for one person doesnt for another.

The only time it annoys me when people have hidden profiles is when they directly contact me by PM wink or friends invite but I totally get folk who are on the forums and chat and have theirs hidden because they don’t want to privately interact with anyone new

I'm not telling anyone what to do, I'm merely asking the question. As I said, I don't understand hiding your profile and yet continuing to interact with others in a limited way and I have had winks, gabs, etc from hidden profiles. So if you care to elaborate on why you still interact from behind a hidden profile that's up to you.

No I don't wish to elaborate on anything. Its my choice how I use my profile.

I interact with a profile that’s always hidden. Don’t question it. When they’re free they’ll respond. End of.

Doesn’t matter…this site is like every site. When you join, it’s your personal choice how you operate it.

Bit stunned this thread is still going (fully knowing I’m bumping it with this)
