The whos near button?

Does it work?

Obviously not as iv never had mine on but I get messages saying oh your only 10 miles from me blah blah..but before anyone states the obvious no they are not just saying it to get a random reply..iv had screenshot showing I'm only 10 miles away while I'm obviously not but also as I said I don't ever turn that button on.

So..

Is it there just to lure folk in if it dosnt really work?

In the west.

It does work. I was having a cheeky look one Sunday morning. I saw a few within a mile. Half an hour later I went in to a shop in town and I was served by one of them.

I've found if I put it on in another place then turn it off I still show up in that place when I log in back home.

Maybe they don't mean the who's near and are just going by the distance on your profile?

You would have had to put your postcode in as your home location

There’s two locations on your profile the home and the mobile one

Mobile one always picks up your current location if I had it on in London and then switched it off and came

Home my home location would be inverclyde and my mobile location would be 400odd miles away until I turned it back on

Half the time I don't know where I am

Currently it says your home location is 10miles from

Where my home location is set to which is Renfrew

However my mobile location is 10-15miles away from your home location/mobile location if you have it turned on

Never thought of the postcode tho.so just always thought it was on mobile app.

It definitely works as when we go to Blackpool we get lots of locals messaging yet all we have done is logged in to fab

Most definitely works and used to be very accurate with the nearest being stated as 'touching distance' this was later changed to within 1/4 of a mile

Have managed to use it many times on holiday playing spot the swingers in hotels/bars etc

I'm glad someone else remembers this. I recall the touching distance thing, a bit creepy but useful.

I told someone about it and they thought I was imagining things.
