Why block for a message??

Angus, and Aberdeen area

Ok if your profile has an age range I get it, but… Why block someone for a simple respectful message???

We are all on here to meet up, with a simple, non degrading question surely a simple “ no thanks” is ok?

Or am I being too old fashioned and polite?

People block for any number of reasons and that’s their right.

In addition you aren’t entitled to a response just because you’ve messaged someone. Some ladies and couples literally get 100’s of messages daily it’s impossible to reply to all hence fab etiquette as stated in faqs is

No reply = not interested

So just move on.

Old fashioned I'm afraid....

As previously said.

It's a swipe society!!

Fabs version of swipe is simply "block" button.

See it as a good thing.

Less issues for all parties concerned. If you are blocked then you know that individua is not intetested.

That means you can invest time into those who are interested.

Maybe they've read a post on the forum they didn't like and your pm reminded them.

Maybe they looked at your pics, they're not remotely attracted to you and took the short cut by blocking rather than explaining.

Maybe you caught them on a bad day.

You'll never know. Forget about it.

I’ve done both. I’ve just this minute told someone ‘sorry, I’m not interested’ and I had a reply saying ‘rude’. I’ve also had replies saying ‘you’re just a fuckin slut anyways’.

I find it easier to block because then I don’t get made to feel like shit and called a slut because I’m not interested.

You can never win.

100% agree here I used to always reply as I was raised to be nice and respectful but then you get nothing but abuse cause you said no

So block button is way easier to avoid that

Best thing is just move on and forget about it.

We occasionally block before a message lol. People we're clearly not interested in, people with specific requirements we don't match etc etc.

Why does it matter? They're not interested so what difference does it make if you can still message/see their profile, they're still not interested.

People have their own likes and what they find attractive in a person and there is nothing wrong with that at all.

Most people do tend to reply but the ones who don’t, that’s their choice!

I don’t see anything wrong with the block option, it sends the same message as a no thanks and saves the inevitable torrent of abuse or worse, the “wouldn’t it be a shame if your wife found out your on here” messages.

I’ve found lately lots of guys who don’t pay for the upgrade keep messaging and I’ve reminded them before they’ve already messaged me, the joy of upgrading you can see all previous correspondence so finally have started blocking more

Oh dear, some people just don't read the rules, no answer is a no. If women say no then they get either abuse or why not.

If you don't like, block and move on.

Men have no entitlement on here.

Previously on as couple in the past and we would block couples females and males just by looking at the profile and having nothing of interest its a personal choice and dont get butt hurt over it and move on

Did you send the simple respectful message to the same person like 3 times? That's for me a reason to block someone x

Yeah I know and movers on already

My point mainly the rudeness… I give a simple “no thanks” if I get a message from someone who doesn’t really do it for me

And no follow up with daft insults

Insults are unnecessary and if anyone starts throwing them at you just report them. As to the polite "no thanks", that is often followed by nasty retaliation, or "why?", or "we can just chat" and many more similar to this. I stopped replying to most for this reason.

Fab FAQs are crystal clear on this.

https://www.fabswingers.com/articles/FAQ#noreply

Your message content may not be the issue. Your profile might be, or they might know you from your photo, or simply not be interested. They don’t owe you an explanation.

If they aren’t interested, there’s no difference between deleting and blocking other than to minimise the potential for abuse & repeat messaging (both of which are rife).

If they reply for any reason then fab allows you to message them again forever, even if they block all men or your age range from messaging at a later point. This is an important safety consideration for women trying to avoid abuse & repeat messages. It’s double the work.

You just lied and said I never sent you a pic … I did 8 hrs ago when you first messaged me for FPF then you messaged afterwards asking if we were going to CJs tomorrow to which my husband replied, then tonight you messaged AGAIN. with your pic for FPF to which I replied you already sent a pic earlier and you again replied …. I wouldnt worry about it mate. I had one the other day that blocked me as I didn't send picture in my first message and explained that I was looking to find out if they were free or not so not to waste their time or mines and very respectful as I always am, I even take time to thank people for saying they are not interested too.Personally I wouldn't want to meet anyone anyway that treats people like that as respect works both ways. I am not computer oriented but I am sure fab can do a wee button like block button saying not interested
