Acceptable sock quantities

Frivolous post here...

Can I ask what you folks would consider a "normal" amount of socks to own?

I have 47 pairs of socks and I've been told that's really excessive (9 pairs are unopened so they aren't in circulation).

While we're at it, how many pair of pants are an acceptable amount?

At one point I had 20, I'm now down to 13.

Socks around 50 pairs, knickers around 200-250 and bras around 100 and then there’s basques and body stockings etc as well

Always feel that you can never have enough socks.

Oddly, i never have enough "summer" socks until winter comes along, then i don't have enough warm socks.

That's a lot but I suppose ladies usually would have have more underwear than men.

I'm currently trying to get my socks and pants down to one drawer to end a turf war

Yeah, socks to me are both a necessity and a luxury: a nice pair of good quality socks is a proper comfort I think.

Most my socks are spring, summer and autumn appropriate but I could do with more winter socks.

Good socks are important.

I was amazed when i got some proper cycling socks, that didn't move around inside my shoes. INCREDIBLE!

The same with good walking socks. No more toe waddage.

Never thought to count but will be into 30 pair of socks probably more when I think about thick outdoor boot socks, summer socks and everyday socks lol

Always matching pairs! When I was younger it was odd socks all the time. Now I'm a bit more OCD about it

As long as you remember to take them off when you get into bed with someone does it really matter how many? :D :D

Need to have spare pairs to double up in the winter anyway so best to have a good stock

Probably about 20 pairs of normal socks.. none of them plain, 6 pairs of summer trainer socks oh and a pair of camping socks - yes they do exist. Been a life saver in a cold tent lol

I have no idea about socks. I have trainerliners for everyday and the gym, socks for shoes and boots then the ones to keep my feet warm at night.

I probably have a about 20 pairs of boxers, so 40 days worth.

Hundreds of black socks. I only wear black socks so always randomly buy more. Great thing about only owning loads of the same black socks is that I never have to pair any up.
