Is the Edinburgh saunas still operating in and around rose Street Lothian Road

Was in Edinburgh last week,and actually overheard someone saying that they are cracking down on saunas,strip shows and stuff, don't shoot the messenger tho

Snp have closed most of them especially during the frindge for some weird reason and there using the covid rules to stop issuing licences through the council which is tory/ labour i believe so there all

The saunas in Edinburgh disappeared with the advent of Police Scotland as they went for a nationwide policy of zero tolerance.

Lothian and Borders police along with the council had a tolerance to the saunas as it meant they could engage with the industry in the open, now it’s underground and much more unsafe.

The strip clubs are a different thing entirely but they are also now set for closure in Edinburgh after the council voted to introduce a nil cap. It’s a massive backwards step for women and the freedom they have over their own bodies.

Totally agree with you, doing this makes it seem dirty and makes meeting people even more dangerous now
