Little gas stove, tea/coffee, thermos flask, hot water bottle. It can get bright v early, blindfold/sleep mask makes a huge difference to sleep.

How do you lock the car at night when going to sleep and not have thr alarm go off, how do you make sure no one can open a car door when your snoring like a fog horn

A lot of cars have a button to turn off movement sensors so the car can be locked and alarmed I think it for if you leave pet in car

How long are you going for? I lived in my van for a year or so, but the requirements for a few days vs a year are very different. I’d highly recommend a big battery pack to charge off your car and a small fridge for food. Plenty of water too, and toilet roll, oh, and plastic bags to shit in!

...and a dust pan and brush.

If you live in a vehicle for even a short period of time it get full of crud and a cheap dustpan and brush is one of the best ways to keep it clean.

extra layers as it gets cold at night even during the summer. even worth taking a sleeping bag as well as a duvet.

Lots of kitchen roll to dry the inside of your windows with as there is loads of condensation.

We done NC500 in my jeep in February. Dummy run was an eye opener. Multiple thin layers, toilet roll, baby wipes, sunvisor/privacy screen especially with early morning light. Take pillows. We got a exact fit blow up bed

Did you use campsites or were tjer places to pull off and overnight?

I am getting a new pickcup in November and plan for it to be more of a stealth camper.

Used the large carpark Durness and a lay-by off the main road outside Ullapool.

Top tip: visit the leisure centre in Ullapool, swim sauna and more importantly a shower!!!

We got really lucky. Sun was shining and the temp went up. Didn't dip under 2 degrees at night time which with sleeping bag and a cover was fine. In summer just crack the windows to help with condensation

Admittedly,they are an acquired taste. The engines though, are found in Peugeot, ford, Volvo, BMW, mini and mercedes amongst others. Mine suits for practicality, car camping and general workhorse.

Mrs has the sexy car.

You could..... Google it.

It'll be one of the buttons just inside the driver's door down at your right knee. Button usually looks like a car with a WiFi type indicator inside it. Either that or a 'P' with a the same indicator.
