So, it's my birthday this week....

What was your best ever present and why?

Got to be the presents you get as a kid that thing you were always absolutely buzzing for like a playstation or a guitar.

As an adult best presents have always been surprise trips away and the filth that's then ensued

If I remember you were after some cocoa butter. When is that fab 47 changing to fab 48? I've been looking out for it.

It's the wrong birthday on here...won't show as 48 for a while.

My birthday is Wednesday.

I think I’ve bought 4 or 5 of them over the last few years as gifts. Never fail to make a woman smile.

For me, best was a barbute helmet. I’m a geek. Not apologising. (Or maybe it was the Spartan one).

That's a coincidence. I've just ordered an alternator belt off ebay and its due to be delivered on Wednesday. That would be a decent present if it arrives on time.

In the west.

Mine was a beer fridge that I kept in the hut. It's too far to walk to the kitchen during the summer to get a beer.

Happy Birthday when it comes Miss Muff

My best ever present was driving lessons. Still not passed though in my defence I started not long before lockdown and have never bothered to find a new instructor.

Awwww.

I'd love a dog...or another wee moggy. But my cat wouldn't be having any of that.

Somewhere over there

Best present I got when younger was this desk set easel with pens etc; having lots of siblings meant having something that was solely mine was special.

Even now, buying a new book is a birthday treat.

Ian has bought me a pair of Bluetooth wireless headphones which might not seem much but I wear hearing aids and my hearing went on one side; so gave up listening to music until he got me these. Best thing ever (so far!)

Millie

That’s such a shame. Love horses; plus 18 hands is pretty tall! I used to ride an ex police horse called Autumn who was tall but needed encouragement to get moving now she’d retired!

Loads of daft wee things but best one in recent years was probably the family holiday we had with my folks for my 40th. My wee Dad treated us all. Lots of lovely memories made. Can't think of an actual physical gift that springs to mind.

Mine was literally just this month.

For my 40th the wife got me tickets for the British GP at Silverstone which included paddock club hospitality for the Friday. Honestly one of the greatest weekends of my life. Can't see how I can possibly match this to return the favour for her.

Happy Birthday Muff!! xxxx

Anyway, my best ever present was my Black Lab, got him as a pup for Xmas, and he was my spoilt wee baby boy and bestest buddy for 13.5 years. Absolutely broke my heart when he died.

He was all the more special, because I always wanted a Lab, as a kid/teenager/20something, and wasn't able to have one.

I grew up as an Army Brat, all over the world, and also served for a bit myself. So, I wasn't able to have a dog moving around.

And no mega pint, removal of spectacles or bags over head were required.

Happy belated birthday Miss Muff

Best presents I've had are the ones the kids have made or if they make me tea or breakfast on my birthday. I'm easy pleased. Not really one for material things. Weekends/overnights away or meals out as gifts are much appreciated
