Ardeer Nudist Beach - Monday 18th

Monday is expected to be very hot in south west Scotland.

Are there any fabbers planning a trip to Ardeer nudist beach?

Not been myself for the last three years. Last time I went I did see a few peeps. Not much naughtiness but loads of people simply sunbathing naked.

I think it will be busy. Probably with guy on guy fun.

Sorry if I’m being a bit naive, but if I went to a nudist beach I would only expect to see naked sunbathers. I wouldn’t expect to find everybody shagging!

Totally against any play on a nudist beach. It is a sure way to get them shut down

It’s quite common for people to play on this particular beach.

Think I may burn to a crisp if I went on Monday but maybe there’d be a volunteer to rub sun cream on me

We go along to Ardeer regularly in the good weather but only ever to enjoy sunbathing naked.

I went to Ardeer today and could not find the nudist beach.

I found a beach with a sort of bridge that took me on to a beach with families and children, and I also found another part to that same beach on further along to the right that had young guys on quads and dirt bikes going all over the grass and sand

Where did I go wrong?

Stevenston Railway station,

Head down Shore road bearing right at the Y junction.

Stay on the road under the new Height barrier onto the single track access road.

As the road open up to the car park area, leave the road to the left and park up. Can drive further but be warned it is rough and could cause damage.

Facing south toward Irvine, shank's pony onto the beach and keep walking until past the Robert Burns Mural on the sloping sea wall.

Hey presto, pick your spot because you will be in the correct area.

No access from the south from Irvine so don't be tempted to continue walking to see for yourself.

Sand gets deeper the closer you get to the River Irvine.

I personally would go right to the end of the sloping wall as that's where most people go.

Be aware this is not an official nudist beach, there are no signs warning people of this so you will get families on beach, people out walking, teens on dirt bikes etc

The walk to Irvine is nice but you cannot cross river and the further along you go the quieter it is.

I would not be having any sort of fun on the beach and any that I have had has been in the dunes

You didn't walk far enough down away from the part with the quads and bikes past the burns mural there is some large drift wood keep walking that way and you probably come across some people.

Most of the times I have been that way it's been sun bathers and people swimming. There possibly could be others that go to play.

Personally I prefer that activity a little less sandy

Thanks for the info, my problem is when I get to the beach do I go left or right? as I have no idea where the burns mural is?

I will find it eventually, hahaha

Just walk south..the mural is on the sea wall what will be on your left hand side. Keep walking beyond that till the sea wall then breaks up..that's where most folk sunbathe.........
