Who thinks Christmas starts too early?

Who thinks Christmas, starts way to early in the shops, and if so- do you think it has gone way overboard, with the commercial aspect of Christmas, seems to me it's lost some of the true meaning of Christmas- the birth of Jesus Christ, the son of god, its all about £'s and pennys now, not the celebration of the birth of the son of God

can't both go hand in hand, a lot of people who don't normally go to church tend to go at Xmas and Easter to celebrate the 2 biggest Christian events on the calendar with churches full to capacity no matter what denomination, I do agree it has become far to expensive compared to what it once was but the concept of giving presents on Xmas day is one that I love and look forward too ... oh and Xmas dinner too

I buy presents for my 4 year old niece.

No one else.

Its for kids, my siblings and parents dont need me to buy things they dont want or need

Absolutely. I'm a church-goer, so on the one hand I can moan and gripe about folks 'only bothering' at Christmas time, but then again, if folks are at least good to each other and have luverly fun together, it can't be bad OTT present prices can put a lot of strain on families though

i think it starts when you want it to start. i love giving presents so rather than bankrupt myself in december, i start much earlier in the year and get a little thing every fortnight or so..... oh and happy christmas everyone

For couples with a couple of kids im sure the earlier the better save a whole lot of grief nearer the time struggling to find money for gifts if they can spread the cost throughout the year instead.

Also look how fast the time flys by from the first ad on tv until christmas day its goes in so quickly and people still rushing at the last min for gifts .

Last week princess street gardens was covered in poppys, today all the festive wheel, ice rink, and markets huts are being put up quicker than a nuns knickers after a slash.

Pawn shops have Queue's outside and the obligatitory charity buckets are outside every shop.

Let the kids enjoy Christmas whether it is commercial or not. They will soon grow up and relise the fact soon enough. Some of my happiest memories are waking up on Christmas mornings and seeing my daughters face and her excitement at what Santa brought her.

Us adults can have fun any time

The casino at the maybury has had its tree up and lit since july, i think it may be counter productive as i used to enjoy meals in there but seeing that lit tree just makes me avoid now.

Love Christmas here!

Love to see all denominations celebrating together at least for one day most sharing the same belief!

For us its all about family, sharing time as well as presents. We have everyone over for dinner......in fact today I'm trying out Reindeer steaks in pre Christmas menu trial run.

I remember one year the House of Fraser Store, in Gateshead, set their Christmas display up on the shop floor in Septemeber- too much way too much lol
