Pentland walks?

Wondered if there is anyone on here who would be interested in meeting for occasional walks in and around the Pentlands?

I’m mostly just looking for like-minded company, it doesn’t have to involve anything else.

(Although of course if it did then that would be a Brucey bonus! )

I did Scald Law last year, my first time on the Pentland hills. Beautiful.

It's stunning isn't it, and right on our doorstep. Well, it's on mine anyway!

Maybe it's about time to do it again, or perhaps a different hill?

The Pentlands are much, much easier. No Munros there.

Great walk through from Harlaw, Threipmuir via Loganlea across and through the spine of the Pentlands and down to Glencorse and the pub at Flotterstone for refreshments (best done with two cars).

The Harperrig - Baddingsgill-West Linton trans-Pentland route is similar and again totally marvelloius. Two car job.

Both easy-peasy walking.

Hillend to Dunsyre is also do-able in a day (two car job). Surprisingly quick traverse of the length of the Pents, just lots of ridge paths and staying on the high ground.

Yes I am interested, it might be better if you include a date, time and place in here

I've done the 5 Peaks on the full squish too. Talk about punishing! The descent from Turnhouse to the Flotterstone is an absolute beauty though.

I wasn’t really envisaging a formalised group thing, it was much more about just enjoying the hills occasionally with a like minded sole as and when it suited us both.

Camped in the Pentlands not long ago. Passed a m/f couple in a two man tent pitched up really early and got me thinking

Despite being ex military and having a more than reasonable knowledge of how to navigate the ground by map and compass, much to my shame I’ve yet to do a Monro

Been up and down plenty Welsh mountains

Hehe, I am just about recovered from 4 Munro peaks in one round on Monday. Was a tough day

Always wanted to do it, have lived in Scotland for over 20 years by this point and never got around to it - finally started earlier this year and have climbed 9 now.

Well worth it.

The Welsh had it all sussed out years ago. There's wee trains to take you up and down Welsh Mountains. You can buy Steak Pie and Chips and a pint of Lager at the top of Snowdon... and the reason I know this is because I took the train to the top for Steak Pie & Chips and washed it down with a cold pint of lager.

The views weren't half bad either. Could see a hazy Scotland and a crystal clear Northern Ireland, Republic of Ireland, Engerland and the Isle of Man.

Go the Welsh!

Another beautiful day for walking - heading up from Flotterstone if anyone’s about and fancies some company.
