Would this be something the folks in the North would be interested in?

Gathering interest because we love a good social and enjoy meeting people and making new acquaintances.

It would be great to be able to have something regular for people up here, building connections and friendships and letting people decide if they want to take it further.

We are talking about making something regular/semi-regular that's within a decent travelling distance, input would be greatly appreciated either on the forum or through messages.

Input as to when, how often what day obviously weekends would be the ideal days. What areas would be beneficial etc.

Let's hear your thoughts

We would be interested, I think it would be a struggle to have them monthly up here, so perhaps bi or tri monthly, as loads of people would say they were going then fail to turn up. Like you said previously, perhaps vary the town from Banff along the coast to Inverness, which may attract folk from the North Shire and part of the Highlands.

Yeah that's our thoughts too, not everyone can travel too far or get lengthy times away due to other commitments.

At least having it put on the forum just now will give a better idea if it's worth the time and effort to arrange something.

Hi good morning all.

I’d be interested in attending a social and I also think an attempt to have a regular gathering would be fantastic.

No harm in trying to get something sorted.

All above comments noted, regular yes but not overly regular unless it was deemed necessary by the amount of people who would like to come along.

We will try and keep this thread alive (scotland forum is slow at times ) and if there is enough interest then myself and curvy will do our best to get a date arranged for either August or September

That's what we don't understand, the Aberdeen socials are always in the same city and we would imagine quite a few locals attending are regulars.

Maybe Aberdeen people have a more care free attitude and don't worry about going to a social where they could cross paths with people they've met outside of fab

We would be interested if we are free on the day.

There has been a few tried to arrange socials in Inverness but never went ahead due to lack of interest so this would be ideal for us

Always love a social, we would be interested. Being from the Broch we are at the edge, but it's just as easy for us to go along the coast as it is to go down to Aberdeen.

We've seen your name a lot on the forums, we thought you were from down south

The coastal route from the broch is a worthwhile drive at the very least

This is why we want to try and arrange something even if it's only every 2-3 months. Surely there's enough interest in the North for it to work out

Sexytown, Moray

We would definitely be interested, dependant on time and date.

As previously mentioned we did try a few times to organise, but due to little interest (and last minute no shows) decided to give in gracefully.

Will watch this thread with interest and anticipation

We will get a good chance to look into a few places this weekend, we will also pin a date and take it from there

The area is definitely lacking and we feel that a lot of people (couples&singles) would benefit from something half regular.

Gent.

That's a lot of outlay with costs etc, more so it would be a big disappointment when people don't show up. We all know that's a big possibility

Would be up for this. Back in the before times, there was a social in Edinburgh area where we had a big rented house with a dozen rooms, was great fun. Sadly no jacuzzi.

As someone mentioned whomever organising it would need people to pay a deposit or potentially find themselves out of pocket. But if you get the right mix of people would ve great

An air b&b may be a good idea. Only trouble is it would have to be a pretty large one to house 20- 50 people.

Anyway I would love to come along should you fins the best solution. X
