There is no pressure at all.

The venue is two floors, the ground floor is a "social area" like a normal pub or bar where the people just chatting to know each other.

The other floor is the playing area.

So you'll perfectly at your ease at ground floor.

We are still very new to the clubs aswell and only been to CJs twice but the twice we have been everybody was really friendly and we have had 2 great nights, there’s no pressure to play at all we never played the 1st time we went just enjoyed the night. Just take the plunge and you won’t look back, don’t go with any expectations and you won’t be disappointed

CJs is one of the least threatening social environments we know. Since we started attending, less than a year ago we have had many wonderful visits, made some serious friends and never felt judged or intimidated as you might in a vanilla environment. CJs caters for all. Shy couples, insecure singles, LGBTQ(xyz) - everybody!

Come along and say hello

We had our very first experience of the scene courtesy of a night in CJs. We cannot recommend them enough. There were definitely a few nerves in the taxi on the way there but as soon as we arrived, we were immediately at ease. The team are amazing and after the tour, we got chatting to some other party goers. Everyone was so lovely and there was never any pressure felt at all. If you're thinking about going, get the email sent in to book

We have been to cjs a few times... whoever this 'clique" is...we are yet to find out.

Everyone is super friendly, we have never came across anyone who we felt was rude and the single men do tend to be respectful. We have always had a great night, and I (wife) have always felt completely safe. Now we are going in and saying hello and hugging people we have chatted to on previous visits and always have a great time getting to know new faces!

Caroline and her staff are incredible! We were there on Saturday, and I took a bit of a funny turn at the end of the night, felt a bit faint. Caroline instantly got me water and got my husband for me... After that I was given a cup of tea and a home made bit of caramel cake, then another couple we have met on the few times we have been, kindly took us home.

Hopefully that sums up just what cjs is like!

Always had the best time visiting!!

Hello, it is entirely normal to feel this way even in a day to day social meet. I havent attended CJs but have only read good things about it. I used to be so anxious goin to meets and events but have met so many genuine and lovely people at all kinds of meets and events (lots of amazing sex and stories too) and now its just a heap of fun. I'm sure you both will have a great time and it would be great to hear how u got on? Cheers

CJ’s is great when we went we met a couple for a social first (usually a post on here with people saying where they will be) and it got us “over the door” easier as we where both really nervous!

as soon as we where over the door nerves gone and it was just like a normal night out with the bonus of play rooms up stairs.

Go with 0 expectation that you will play and if you feel comfortable enough and do play then it’s a bonus!

When we first went, we went direct to CJs, and we saw there are clicks for sure in certain groups. But that's maybe because folk feel relaxed with each other.

Since then we goto the pre socials and have enjoyed CJs much more as your already relaxed and have spoken to some people.

Was at fancy dress night at the weekend and it was a great night.

There is no desire for yous to play on your first night, use it as a social evening if you like.

Staff are also really good.

If you have a look at the clubs website there’s info there on dates but usually 2 a month for couples & single F nights.

Good one is the Fun for All nights but single M spaces get booked up quickly.

Definitely get yourself along to pre-drinks or social event which tend to be on the same night as the club nights.

I sometimes sit with friends but Ian & I make a point of talking to new folk and aren’t stuck to each other all night so it makes it easier for folk to chat.

Parties run from 9pm until 2am, and there are usually pre-drinks organised beforehand to meet people.

We’ve been twice. The first time, pre-pandemic, we were too intimidated to talk to anyone, and ended up just playing by ourselves in an open room (which led people to talk to us, but only at the very end of the night).

Second time, which was June’s couples and women night, we chatted to people and made some friends, and had some very fun times with several other couples. Best advice really is to just dive in, chat, and if all else fails go and play in an open room and try to be clear that it’s okay for people to join you (if that’s what you want!).

We’ll be back on the 9th. If any new couples or women want to chat to us, drop us a message here.

We're occasional visitors to CJs and whether it was when I was alone or with my partner it's always been a friendly and welcoming place, I've never felt uncomfortable there.

I do think some people confuse 'cliques' with 'groups of friends' though, so don't put too much stock in that.

A good icebreaker is to perhaps compliment someone on their outfit, or tell them they seem to know their way around and could they give you some first timer pointers, much as you've done here.

We also usually advertise that we are attending and try to get chatting to people beforehand so you know there will be someone to chat to!

The bar and the kitchen are usually good places to start a chat.

Chatting on the forums is also good as people get to know you before meeting up.

I do sometimes arrange socials before Fun for all nights along with No Shrinking Violet but we don’t go to all of them.

There’s no such thing as a silly question so feel free to ask it here.

Posting that they require a female sidekick to attend a club it’s a bull s**t excuse to try and get laid man up and go by yourself and just go out without expectations and be friendly and chatty and you’ll have a great night you might not get to play with anyone but I’m pretty sure you’ll have a great night if your just after your leg over go get a lady of the night.

There is another reason or two as to why they want to go in with a female. 1 - so they can get into the couples room (which is out of bounds to single guys!) and 2 - it's cheaper for guys to pay the couples price.

Who the heck are they fooling? I don't believe any man who says they can't go into a club by themselves

I went as a single women back in April to the couples and single women night and really enjoyed it .

Very safe ,very welcoming , I like the no phones policies and that they check the play rooms and activities regularly just in case of any issues .

I was even given a lift back to my hotel as there was no taxis and they didn’t want me waiting around alone .

Only thing for me was it was mainly couples so I may try an all for everyone night next time but def will return sometime soon .

No pressure to do anything at all felt in full control .

I d say go for it and if I m free I may join you too

You will love Cjs. Everyone was once walking in for the first time, having the same nerves.

People will go out their way to say hi, but like chatting online, you sometimes have to break the ice with a "hello, it's out first night".

There will be people there purely for social, and there is never any pressure to head up stairs.

I hope you guys go, I hope you enjoy yourself, because we all need a night out now and again.

Jen

"You will more than likely be alienated as you are not one of the CJ s posse lol "

Well as a complete outsider and southerner lol, I've never been alienated, nor have I noticed any posse on our visits.

I've always felt welcome, and everyone has always been polite and spoken to me at some point during the night.
