I'm planning on attending club play blackpool on 16th July for their Dirty Disney event. It will be my first time going so looking for any tips or advice re travel, hotels to stay etc. I can drive down, leaving from Edinburgh or is it easier on the train? Looking for cheap and clean nearby accommodation probably just for one or two nights. Thanks in advance

Looking at doing same but maybe the end of July.

Car will be alot cheaper than the train, we just looked on booking.com for accommodation or Google Paradise hotel Blackpool.

An ADULT only hotel

Somewhere over there

There’s usually a group of us go down to Blackpool. We normally go by car convoy and have split accommodation costs (usually AirBnB)

Get in touch with @thehound or @missfussybiatch as they are regular hosts there or indeed the club itself for info.

Millie x

On the subject of the fancy dress it's Disney, so your imagination is your only real limit.

You have your classic characters: Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, Donald, Genie, Aladin, and Jasmine, etc. And you also have Alice, Tinkerbelle, Tom Thumb, etc. But now you also have the whole Star Wars side of things.

If you are still stuck then do what I'm doing: I chose a base outfit and I'm accessorising with clothing that I think that character would wear. A lot of what Walt Disney used to draw were animals.

My outfit is going to consist of a basic cow costume, accessorised with ladies clothing (a top and leather skirt). And hey presto - A Disney Cow character called Ms. Beefy.

I hope this advice helps anyone that is still unsure what to do for a costume.

Club Play is an awesome club, ideal for a first time as everyone who attends are extremely welcoming and friendly. It's OK to watch, and put on a show for others, just be yourself, have fun, and you'll fit right in.
