Hotels offering day use/early check in

West coast

Hello hive mind,

Seeking advice on how best to organise a hotel meet, starting about noon. In the Ayrshire area. Midweek.

I used Premier Inn once, and they let me check in at 1pm because they had a clean room available.

Has anyone ever NOT been able to check in early at a Premier Inn?

The reception desk at the Travelodge in Kilmarnock gave me the willies...and not in a good way.

All ideas welcome, thanks.

Ayrshire

Would the obvious thing to do not be to ask if early check-in is possible?

Thank you to those sending private messages. So let me add, I've tried Dayuse dot com, and Hotels by day. Good for Glasgow, not for Ayrshire.

When I have tried to confirm an earlier check in, the hotels I called said they couldn't guarantee and I should call on the day in question to ask

Unfortunately thats likely to be the case almost everywhere OP

the hotel will need to look at occupancy rates, staffing levels etc and how early previous guests check out as well.

Too many factors that are unknown to give an answer in advance.

Thank you. I'm wondering how often this works out, and that early check in have been granted.

Would be awkward to have to take 3 people to the nearby Macdonalds for food for 2 hours lol

You can pay for early check-in at the travelodge I've been lucky enough that I have checked in at 8 am most of the time as they usually have rooms ready and don't have to take my case to work with me xx

somewhere

The next problem is people needing keys now to get into lifts or to the room . As much as I’d love to I’m not clipping down to reception to seen meeting my date there . Especially as I love the anticipation of the knock at the door xxx

I've done this before.

I can open my car door via the car's app on my phone so can do this securely. Just open it when I get the call then lock again.

Have you tried any of the other Day Room websites? For the key card my male friend leaves an envelope at reception for me with my name on it. The room is empty when I arrive and I have to follow instructions he has left for me.

Johnstone

I spoke to someone who was part of a bdsm group down south they hired a lodge in the middle of nowhere and they had seperate rooms each there was about 4-5 of them and there partners admirers etc would come and go as they pleased.

Maybe check air bnb for a cottage or lodge if its a regular thing.
