I use them, it's not lazy in my opinion, it just lets the person know you're interested, if they wink back, it's up to you to then message if they haven't done so.

Thats the thing people say it’s lazy & they would rather have a message yet Il bet they don’t do the messaging themselves .

A wink to me is an initial opening way of saying I like what I see she let’s see if they think il worth getting to know .

I don’t mind winks at all

In the west.

I only wink as part of a forum thread now, I used to but as the saying goes it's only a different vowel.

It's quicker to wink and be ignored than type out a message and be ignored

Winks are useful if it starts something. They are useless when you both wink each other then the feckers ignore your message. Maybe our messages are shit though .

Never had a reply from a wink, never replied to one either. Although if any of them were from F/MF I might have done!

Whats more annoying is people that don't read your profile then wink or message anyway. #block

We like receiving a good wink and also send a few to see if others wink back then we will send a message to them and take it from there.

So get furiously winking folks.

It's a winkathon lol x

I admit I tend to use winks..if it prompts a wink back or a message ...there you have it. I do try and message and start a conversation but sometimes a wink is best id say

We use them.

If we wink at someone and they wink back we take that as an invite to message knowing it will be read and replied .

If someone winks at us we will wink back and as far as we are concerned that means they are welcome to message us and we will reply.

Don't mind winks at all. Much better than a friend request when you haven't even spoke to them.

I don't look at mines really.

Sometimes I wink if someone is outwith my filters cause it'll allow them to message me and I'm not sure I'm their type, but 9/10 I'd usually just send a message myself first to open my filters.

I usually wink and send a follow up message. Using a wink on its own doesn't feel right to me for some reason :D

If we receive a wink, we will generally wink back. We used to send a message thanking them for the wink, but we gave that up when some didn't reply. If they reply to our return wink, we reciprocate.

Reminds me of the Facebook poke from years ago.

Depends who you're winking I suppose. Single women apparently get 100s of messages a day so whats the point in sending a message when it's going to get lost in the wash?

This is why I usually send the odd wink. Can’t stand out in an inbox wall of yellow
