I was talking to a good friend she joined fab last week saying how the hell do guys ever get to meet woman on here

I asked why she said I joined and with in a hour I had 433 messages from guys ranging from simple hello to more filthy explicit messages and the dummy spitting you not interested name calling after just sending the message 4 mins before

She was amazed she also said could get rich from the offers she was sent as well xxx

So guys we need to stand out with our messages and stop the dummy spitting you make us all look bad

I've always thought new profiles should start with message filters on. My first time on Fab I got so overwhelmed with the inbox I didn't log in for a while.

I know they do give you kind of a guide to message filters but like you say, the numbers can be ridiculous before you even get a chance to see that.

As a trans girl i got bombarded by about 50 messages when i first joined...70% being fantasists.

Really it's a lottery when it comes to that kind of numbers. If a lady has 300 messages it doesn't matter if you stand out or not, chances are you're getting bulk deleted. It's a shame if you do go to the effort of really reading and appreciating what's written in a profile and genuinely think you'd be a good match - to then not get a reply is soul destroying, and some potentially great meets have probably been missed due to the sheer numbers of messages.

For men you just have to hope your luck comes in, or time your message sending better!

This 100%. The ones who bombard newbies are probably the scattergun brigade who message anyone within 50 miles. But then any holes a goal lads eh!

I think a lot of it is down to luck to be perfectly honest. I'm not looking for men, so tend not to reply to messages but occasionally a wee diamond in the rough pops up. Their profile is usually nothing special, average pics, but their chat is great and there is far more to them that meets the eye. Unfortunately they're in amongst a sea of dick & torso pics.

That's where the forum comes in handy. Let's you show your personality a wee bit more.

We used to get all sorts of offers and idiotic requests but we now just delete anything without a profile pic as they are usually the dreamers or have something to hide anyone stroppy also gets deleted and their dummy chopped up

100% This applies to us, we made the mistake of unblocking males from messaging us, huge mistake that was, silhouette avatars with no or little information believing the are all gods gift to the females on here..

Thankfully now males are back to being blocked

There's a lot to be said for holding back the explicit chat and getting to know the person first. That's what I usually do.

I used to send messages when I re-joined, I forgot what Fab is like and the number of messages the women and couples get, it's an age thing.

I very seldom send a message now but if I do it is usually related to a topic in the forums. When I do I'm not rude not do I say anything explicit.

I work with young guys who I know would send those type of messages as that is the way they talk all the time.

My rule of thumb is, if you can't say anything nice or be polite don't say anything.
