My wife has expressed an interest in meeting with other couples and single men and women. I have never been to CJ's however it seems to get great reviews.

While she would not want to walk into a traditional swingers club where all the man are in towels. She would like a relaxed atmosphere where it looks more like a club. Is that what CJ's is like. Whith an option to go upstairs and play if you make a connection.

Any feedback would be appreciated.

We are no spring chickens and have all the lumps and bumps associated with middle age.

There is no doubt that as a venue it is heavily promoted on this forum. I'm sure there will be a number of comments about how its the 'best place' from the usual suspects added to this thread.

If you believe everything that is posted then you'd think it was the greatest and only option locally. However, I've heard good and bad things about it. Including some horror stories.

Bear in mind it is a business. So if it was just a gaggle of single guys ready to pounce it wouldn't last very long. My advice for any club would be go along with zero expectations of playing and go with the flow. If it's not your thing you can leave and all you've lost is your entry fee.

I've been lots of times.downstairs is very much pub/club vibe music on and seating areas in various rooms. Upstairs is lots of rooms for fun. I've been myself on occasion and I must say always feel safe + had a good night.

So it is just like a regular club with a bar and people dressed as if they were in a city bar?

Where is it. In the city?

Yeah it's a smart casual dress type situation. The vibe is definitely bar like with several areas to sit around and chat plus a wee dance floor and pole.

Can't be too specific about location but it's a short taxi ride north of the city centre

As someone has already said, go along with no expectations. I go a lot, and I genuinely enjoy it. The people are lovely, the staff are friendly and I've never felt unsafe when I'm there without my husband. It sounds like it might be the right place to start for you and your wife though, as there's lots of people to answer any questions etc xx

Had our first visit to cjs on Saturday night and had a wonderful time. Lots of really nice people. Was a very busy night and there were very few single guys lurking about as they limit the number. They also have nights for couples and single girls only, maybe that would be an idea for you. It took us a while to pluck up the nerve to go, now we can't wait to go back. Give it a go, the worst that can happen is you don't like it and you leave.

I find CJs is pretty friendly. Downstairs has the cloakroom where you pay your admission fee and can leave your coats and change etc, toilets, buffet area, bar area for socialising and some dance floors and smoking area, upstairs has a range of playrooms (some private some public) and a few sofas at the top of the stairs for socialising... you can just watch upstairs if you don't want to play and you can have a look around... think the still have the cinema room upstairs as well.

Oh - you'd want to avoid a greedy girl party as a first visit... that really is a case of most blokes walking around in towels... other than that CJs is usually good to visit for newbies and they always have staff dotted around if you have questions or any worries.

Downstairs is a regular club, with bar and dance floor and a few meeting rooms.

Upstairs to a couple only room, cinema room and a few more rooms with lockable doors.

Plenty staff on patrol upstairs, not saw many walking around in towels.

It's a good relaxed venue, we are off there on 30th...
