Why do you feel the need to post this on here? I would have thought this type of post was more apt for Facebook.

I hope you are ex regular infantry otherwise you need to stop and seriously think about what you are trying to achieve.

If I’m under fire I’d be wanting guys next to me who have some skills not just good intentions.

Your very brave and all the best of luck.

When you get back to Scotland have you thought about how your life will be? You will see a lot of death and horror, very good chance you'll have PTSD, your life will change forever.

All the best to you.

Do you have skills that would be useful over there?

Unless ex military then basically gonna put others at risk as they try and protect your ass. Wonderful idea and very heroic, reminds me when Falklands kicked off so many volunteers but luckily MOD didn't accept and left it to professionals!!

I am ex military. Very well trained and highly skilled at my job. I've served in past conflicts and know exactly what I'm facing. My friends and family back me 100% as they understand my feelings about what's going on. The sceptics on here should really just crawl back under a stone. As for getting a shag, it's the farthest thing from my mind silly people. Thanks to those who wished me well. Hope you all stay safe and perverted xxx

Are you going on a holiday? There is a bit of an aerial bombardment and missile launching going on. I would delay until the fuss dies down.

Russia is unlikely to surrender its warm water ports in the Black Sea or surrender its oil and gas reserves and pipelines which cross Ukraine. No country in their rioght mind would. Let things settle down a bit before your visit.

I've posted on here because knowing what I've asked of family and friends is hard for them to take in. So I try my best to avoid conversing with them too much about things. In the past facing similar situations, I had my mates and we would all gee one another up. That's what kept your resolve and belief that you had what it took to get through those moments. So talking to you guys. Absolute stranger's is better for me than not talking about it at all. Even the stupid comments help cement the commitment required to get ready. I hope that answers your question. M

"Walter Mitty stuff."
veterans like myself and all serving at the moment will tell you you exactly how much we loath Walters. There's no Walter no lies. Lies complicate thing's and I'm too stupid to deal with complications. Maybe before coming online and firing off keyboard warrior comments. You should take a minute to check the limited intelligence you have for grown up conversation. It should stand you in good stead in any future verbal malfunction.

Those Mess Tins won’t repair themselves I suppose. Just doesn’t add up to me. I’m in my 50s have kept fit and have served in two branches of the UK military and I see absolutely zero point in volunteering for this conflict unless resident in the country of Ukraine

Ps if I was going to be involved I wouldn’t be bandying it on here or anywhere.

Couldn't agree more, Falklands, cold War, 2 gulf wars and still wouldn't volunteer. Good luck to you if that's how feel, but might be better saving strength trying to get there and do something positive for this country???

Never know if Putin keeps things going he might be coming to you and us all before soon :-

I don’t for one minute actually believe you are going but if and it’s a huge IF you do then I’d say you are seriously misguided and would be far better trying to find rewarding work with the aid agencies on the ground.

Glad you’re home safely, a fab friend of mine is currently out there also volunteering I say volunteering he’s actually being extremely well paid for it, keeps us up to date as often as he can get online, some of the short videos of the buildings and streets are simply incomprehensible it’s so sad considering how quickly uk and USA etc normally go riding into other countries and go to war can’t help wonder why they’re dragging their heels this time

They are quite happy to sit back and let it happen, both countries become weaker every day, they will step in at some point but not to help Ukraine but to help themselves

Cheers bud. There's quite a few guys being well paid. And they deserve every penny of it. It's pretty bad. So well done to your friend for volunteering. There's a whole lot of top guys and girls over doing their bit. I agree with those who think that we shouldn't get involved as a nation as it would only escalate things to war in Europe then eventually ww3. There's volunteer's arriving every day and the local militia are now being trained to defend themselves. The Ukrainians might just pull this off.
