Do you get much, is your sleep pattern fucked due to shifts are you like me , a night owl .

Being almost always nightshift my weekends are usually fucked as I continue in nightshift mode all through the weekend. Normally only needing 6 hours sleep a day. 6am -12.00

Is your bedtime routine rigid or a total mess like mine, tell all and see what advice the Fab experts can offer.

Not ideal Zest..

It knocks feck out you're eating pattern to.

I was 6months nightshift in NEC years ago during my apprenticeship days.just couldn't eat normal.

The main issue for me was the food thing.i didn't get any weekend off so it was 6months work continuously

Torture.

No electronics before bed, boys.

Switch your fab app off and let your wanking/typing had rest

I never thought of adding the food aspect to the thread but your spot on, my weight has gained ridiculously as I'm eating at work then having breakfast when I come in plus an evening meal as normal , me and Mrs happy are now on diets ( again ) to try and control.

Personally though I don't find nightshift torture though, done , we've both done it most of our working lives and prefer it .

I didn't sleep at all for at least four months the year before last, nothing to do with Covid. I used to sleep for at least 8 hours years ago. I'm sleeping a bit better now but I'm lucky if I get 6 though. I went through a spell of it taking me ages to get to sleep, I still get that some nights but it's not as bad but my quality of sleep is shit x

I used to be terrible at sleep, 4-5 hours on a good night.

Now I can be zonked for 8 hours solid.

Might be something to do with all the erm nocturnal activities

Worked constant night-shift for 2 years in my mid 20s.no problems. Worked nights for a year 2 years ago, totally different scenario. Made me ill in the end and had to change jobs.all good now though, back to 9-5.but it did take a while to sort my sleep pattern

Nightshift is horrific for your health.

Some studies have suggested higher rates of breast cancer among nurses who work shifts.

It affects so much more than your mode and some bags under your eyes. Your whole circadian rhythm gets knocked out of sync. We're not nocturnal animals.

Can you tell I fucking hate nightshifts!

I very rarely get a solid night's sleep. Probably average about 4-5 hours a night altogether, but that's invariably broken sleep interspersed with periods of wakefulness. Can't remember the last time I had an undisturbed night.

I used to have real issues getting and staying asleep and have been using CBD oil which has helped me loads. I get a good 7/8 hours a night now

Worked night shift for 15yrs now so pretty used to it, 4-6 hrs sleep a day seems to be normal for me one wkend off one on so that can be annoying when most people only seem to be available for fun on our weekend on lol

I'm a carer, six hours sleep us an absolute luxury. And not enough sleep does fuck up your health, at least it certainly has in my case.

We were both shift workers for years, it does play havoc with your body rhythms

I have a strange sleep pattern. When I'm away for 3 weeks I sleep from around 1 am to 6 - just a habit I got into and it seems to have stuck. When I'm at home it can be absolutely anything and changes wildly by the day, especially if I have a night on the drink!!!

Sleep pattern gets fucked right up with 4 weeks on days then 4 on nights.... Sometimes shifts are three or four in a row others they are split. Love it though.

We both do actually love the nightshift just the weekends can be annoying when you try to change back to normal hours .
