"Lovely hotel not really walking distance to anywhere of interest Thanks will need to look at that " If it’s purely just for fun then it’s easy to get to by road without seeing a lot of traffic there are a few decent hotels well priced in the city centre just check different sites for deals

"What can I add about The Village Hotel in Edinburgh? I understand you are taking your girlfriend. The fun in the local area includes. 1. 24 hour garage just across Crewe Road South from your hotel (right by the main roundabout intersection). Very handy for late night munchies. 2. A Starbucks in the same block as your hotel. If you need a coffee to keep you awake. 3. If your girlfriend likes make-up and stuff then look no further than Amanda's Avon Land in West Pilton Grove on the other side of Ferry Road across from the roundabout. This is a home-based shop but is available 24 hours/ 7 days for your Avon needs. 4. On the other side of Ferry Road is the Leonardo Hotel if you find The Village isn't up to your liking. The Leonardo is right next to Morrison's Supermarket so food and wine shopping is easily done whichever hotel you are staying in. 5. Just off Ferry Road is the West Pilton Social Work centre for all your Social Work needs while you are in the area. 6. Be sure to shop local and hit the local sandwich shop (for local people) at The Well Bread Sandwich on Pennywell Road where a Greggs is also available. 7. Just up from the main roundabout intersection (overlooked by The Village Hotel) is the Craigleith Retail Experience where you can find both MacDonalds and KFC and old favourites such as Curry's and The Body Shop. 8. For fresh fish needs and seafood dreams pop into Gowans Fishmongers on Easter Drylaw Bank off Ferry Road. I had some wonderful Smoked Haddock from there many years ago. Enjoy your stay!" " Do you work for Edinburgh tourist board " No. But I used to live down in the Ferry Road area. I find it astonishing that people are asking what the night life and social scene is like down there at Crewe Toll. So I wedged my tongue firmly in my cheek and let fly with my advice. Gowan's Fishmonger IS very good though. I reccommend if you are in the area or just looking for a nice bit of fish.
