"Thought I'd post this as a little reminder to not forget about friends.. Today for me was a sharp reminder not to take friends for granted, thinking if you've not heard from them, then everything must be great! Very true best post on the forum xxx Mental health problems is an awful thing to deal with, I'm sure we all know someone or have it ourselves.. Make a difference and let someone know your thinking of them..maybe a txt or call.. don't put it off .. it literally could save someone's life.. Thankyou "

"It's sad that so much of contact goes online nowadays I doubt many take the time to converse face to face over tea or drinks . These past two years of Covid have left many short of social engagement . My thoughts are with anyone feeling left behind its not easy to get back out again the world again ." exactly Steph.. so many suffering in silence

"Great advice. I am a member of an outdoor pursuits group that would meet up about four times a year. One of the friends I made through it was struggling with various things including global politics, UK and Scottish politics, environmental issues and societal attitudes in general. Getting into the outdoors was what kept him going and maintained his mental wellbeing. Last time I saw him, we arranged to go camping and hillwalking together. He was really looking forward to it. Then covid hit and lockdown introduced. He had always been quite active in the group's Facebook page but suddenly went quiet. It turned out he had died and, I believe, from committing suicide. He was a lovely, caring guy and a very big miss. I can't help feeling he'd still be here if he could have got out into the hills with me. " so sad but can't blame yourselves, some people hide it so well..being outdoors definitely helps me even if it's a struggle to do it at times..
