My job has me off-shore for 3 weeks at a time, so I spend at least half the year dry - when I get home mid January I'll be having my new year!!!

I have a similar job. Drinking after finishing for the day is a big no no. I think when you’re deprived of something it makes you want it more. I used to have a right good sesh when I got home but hangovers can be terrible now

The only thing about getting off mid January is nobody will probably be up for it

I have replaced the booze habit with an expensive dress/heels/lingerie one though.

"The pubs will need your money to survive."

When I go to a pub I almost always don't drink. Prefer to drive home from a day or night out. So you can still support your local with a pub lunch and non alcoholic drink.

These dry month ‘challenges’ do my fruit in. Surely it’s no that hard to not drink alcohol for a month? If it is an actual challenge to do so, you might have a wee issue with the tipple…

Hardly drink unless I'm out out so not worth the challenge for me.

Now irn bru or crisps and there could be an issue!

Don't drink on a couple of days each week which hopefully does more good health-wise than stopping for a month then getting blaffered for the rest of the year!

Since covid started I went t-total last year start of this for 6 month. Have came back to it a little bit since the summer but I’d rather just be off it now, can’t be arsed, I’m getting old.

First ever designated driver on Christmas and new year that was weird and have never drank that much non-alcohol lager in my life.#sadmaninthecorner

I'm not a big drinker but I do it socially. Although when we were in lockdown last winter I put away an awful lot of wine, which was a mistake. Now this time, I only bought two bottles of wine and they lasted me the whole of the festive season. I really don't drink to enjoy myself even though it's nice to have a drink. It will probably be a while until the next drink now x

I plan in January being very wet. Because when I'm not drinking I'll be out running and cycling in the rain.

And when I'm not doing that there's other indoor wet activities I plan on partaking in... baths.
