So.....following on from the songs thread.....who amongst us were ravers back in the day??

And which tunes do you still have on the old pod-i?

I was a regular at rezerection (I had a cobalt blue puffa ), fusion, and the bishops in Elgin. Knew Guy (bass generator) and Chantal well as well as many others.

On the I-pod I have too much to list but still listen to most of Dyewitness stuff, ultrasonic- annihilating rhythm and many more

I loved a bit of ultrasonic, the drummer from the shamen works in various bars in aberdeen. Also into a QFX and TTF... much more of a rat pack kind of guy these days.

Love old skool ..

I was too young for the Rez but did homelands and creamfields still do,my hubby is an old Rez boy, did return to Fantazia in 98, im more of a techno chick ,the Slam tent is my haven or the Arcadia Afterburner at Rockness , seen die witness in the Barrowlands with MC XXX fucking amazing ))

c.mon the cheesy quavers ..yep done the rez an quite few other raves an was regular at the fubar in stirling ..used to dance fer guy aswell at fubar aswell as dance overdose an easygroove ....ya canny beat a bit of bangin hardcore ..still got some old skool tunes on my libary

Ah those were the days, the kronk,crystals , Rez, the bunker and did anyone go to the all nighter at preswick airport? To tunes for me Felix, hyper gogo, ttf, njoi, too many to mention . This is true, I've been from hardcore to trance to hard house and now to hard style and through just about everything else that has a pumping bass lol

Currently listening to a lot of bioweapon, alpha2, headhunterz etc etc

Cream at the Arches back in the 90's, Renaissance mansion weekends, Kia-Ora nights and Boat Parties in Aberdeen and Loch Lomond and the exclusive Kick n Hard and Blam Blam nights through in Inverness.. phoned at last minute as members to say where the party was gonna be.. with some classic locations.. memories!

I was on my way to the bunker one night and only realised half way across the forth road bridge that I still had my slippers on , they were the days. Crystals in glenrothes was also a fair night out. And there was also fubar in Stirling Yhesss

Well, this is something that I have wanted to do for a wee while now....organise a night purely for early rave/trance/hard house classics. What better than to combine it with a fab night. I think we would have enough interest to make it a goer (although I'm sure it would be awesome just with the folk who have posted here ) all pile round to Vicki's?

If no one has any objections I'm going to look into this right away (I used to organise a lot of nights back in the day)

What an awesome plan!!!

Unfortunately, I never made it to a rave. Always wanted to try one of those illegal ones in fields around the M25.

However, my friends and/or partners at the time were never into that kind of music and I was mainly into indie/goth/punk/new wave, etc, anyway.

And, when it comes to dance, I am more into trance, techno, electronica, etc, and, these days, very much into EBM.

My partner was a bit of a raver though and I'm trying to persuade her to dig out her dayglo and furry boots.

the metro in saltcoats,went to hanger 13 a couple of times but the metro was the bees knees legs and arms..

does anyone ever remember eurodance that was held in the terminal of prestwick airport..??

utah saints was headliners last time i went there..lol

still like ma tunes to this day...check out this one...gareth emery,rapture..

2-3 yrs old but still gets maximum turnage on the volume dept..lol

I too was a raver! Rez was fantastic went a good few times, haunted the boo Yaa club in Dunfermline each week, brings back fantastic memories with my friends! The old skool tunes are still the best! How good would it be if someone did organise a mini rave, im sure alot of us would be well up for it.

Can't agree more vicky, the Scottish rave scene would not be what it is today if it weren't for Tom Wilson . I was lucky enought to cross his path at wave 102 in Dundee where he worked for a bit and a nicer man you could not meet. He will be keeping the party going somewhere god rest his soul and funk, fusion happy house and a wee sprinkling of techno for that matter too xxxxx.

just seen this post and my has it brought back some memories... going from a 15 year old into stone roses, happy mondays, james etc to pete tongs essential on a friday and tom wilsons stepping out on a sat.

Recording them on tape then on sunday comedown editing the shit out and keeping "the" tunes

First rave experience 1991 in leeds warehouse where k-class were playing live - being offered vicks by some random, as rythym is a mystery was unleashed is a moment will live with me forever!!!

Boo yaa gatsbys regular remember seeing around 700 people in there which was only meant to hold 300 for felix, and all the other big acts of that time.

This ended around 93/94 when it started getting bit too much gabba-ish and my taste turned to the likes of strictly rythym, erick morrilo,graeme park,roger sanchez, MAW more soulful uplifting house.... and i decided to start dj'ing

Well, this is something that I have wanted to do for a wee while now....organise a night purely for early rave/trance/hard house classics. What better than to combine it with a fab night. I think we would have enough interest to make it a goer (although I'm sure it would be awesome just with the folk who have posted here ) all pile round to Vicki's?

If no one has any objections I'm going to look into this right away (I used to organise a lot of nights back in the day)

Was in clubs three days a week from the early acid days. I still am. I've got stamina and dedication!

I had some great memories growing up with the rave scene,Rezerection at newcastle and many bands like Bass X, ultrasonic,ultimate buzz,Love for sale,and me fav Neurotek,just wish i lived in scotland so i could of tryed the clubs out like fubar,hanger 13 but never mind as i have a lot of live events and songs downloaded and stored for me weekend sessions...Hardcore Will Never Die!!!!!

i used to dance ger guy ( bass gen) @ fubar ...fookun awesome nights ..remember 1 night i came out witha wee chickadee jumped on the bus she was in ....an ended up partyin in liverpool .....was the cream bus.pmsl
