Quite a few I imagine...don't they reckon we all are to a greater or lesser degree?

near Glasgow

Im sure there are others with a clinical diagnosis, some without and others who recognise traits that suggest they could be.

It shouldnt matter though OP, but I guess having others who understand or experience your circumstances can be important sometimes.

the land of unicorns and fairytales

There are a number of individuals on the spectrum that i personally know and whilst many say it shouldn’t make a difference sadly it does, wether it be how other people react to finding out some is on the spectrum to those who are who maybe don’t conform to the perceived norms of society, sadly the written words are often taken out of context in general and for anyone on the spectrum this can make navigating a world of online conversation even harder, meeting in person can sometimes help the average go better understand someone on the spectrum but often to the individual on the spectrum an inability to read body language and social curs(not every asd individual struggles btw) it doesn’t make it much easier

Tolerance and being kind and taking everyone with a pinch of salt and trying not to pre judge sadly is a lacking quality of the majority on here I’d say

OP inbox is always open and I’m always happy to meet anyone for a cuppa and conversation

For someone who’s a regular on the forums surely you know that’s not a pre judgment but simply facts, people judge on looks, age sexuality, location, lack of veris, too many veris, types of pics, lack of pics ! Truth is society as a whole is pre judgemental there’s only an incredibly small number of people who genuinely give anyone the time of day who don’t fit a pre specific descriptor

I think your confusing personal choices and preferences with someone who is prejudice against someone else for a particular reason like autism for example. I would say , there's not a person on the planet can claim to not having preferences of some description.

So I stand by my point that the majority of Fab users are not prejudice against others.

I though everyone was on the spectrum, it was just how far along the spectrum you are that makes the difference?

Nope, not true. Autistic persons actually have brains that are different from the neuro-typical. They are formed differently. This will manifest itself through a spectrum of personality "traits" that neuro-typical persons can also display. But it does not mean neuro-typical persons showing such traits are "a bit autistic". One of the reasons it can be so difficult to correctly diagnose autism.

planning Xmas fun

ASD1

It’s has drawbacks. A few actually. But I am learning. Still to mitigate them as much as possible.

There are a few positives too. In my opinion. Which is of course subjective. But. A few. I think.

It’s a very broad spectrum and manifests in many different ways. I add it to my general life philosophy. I’ll treat you like a human. If you’re a nice human - we’ll get on well. All the other plethora of traits or preferences or styles or oddities are things I’ll be considerate and interested about once I know you’re a nice human being.

Anyway. Enough waffle from me. Merry Christmas everyone. X

"Everyone is on the spectrum."

No. They really arent. That's like saying everyone is diabetic because our blood sugar levels effect us.

"I though everyone was on the spectrum, it was just how far along the spectrum you are that makes the difference? "

Actually that's like saying everyone is a little bit pregnant!

Everyone could have some traits of autism, just like they could have some traits of pregnancy but that doesn't make them a little bit pregnant.

Anyway sorry OP back to your post.

Welcome to the forums. I'm sure there are plenty people who are and a forum search will likely lead you to many threads where they share their experiences.

Thats illogical. Pregnancy is not a spectrum, its a fact, you either are or are not pregnant.

With autism we all have some autistic traits but some more so than others, for some it makes it very hard to fit in with society as they see things from a very different perspective to those lower down the spextrum. Society needs to learn to appreciate all for their strengths and differing perspectives.
