I’ve tested positive for Omicron here in Glasgow. I’m double jagged and I was waiting my turn to get my booster.

Some people are saying they don’t want the booster. I tell you what, I would have gladly taken their space in the queue.

I have a relative in Erskine care home and do a LFT twice a week to visit him. I did my regular one and within in 30 seconds I could see a thick second positive line. Booked a PCR test for the next morning first thing. Same again positive. I thought it was funny I had lots of emails and missed calls. Test and Protect where telling me don’t leave your flat for 10 days.

The only place I was and potentially I caught it was Silverburn shopping centre although I could be anywhere.

it gives some protection but the vaccine was formulated against ground zero covid all the govt led hysteria doesn't help.

Early indications (data from South Africa) point to massive infection rate but very mild symptoms these are also different from ground zero covid symptoms. In all honesty go find the impartial data yourself and don't take my word or some crackpot on tvs say so. The South Africa high hospital case load is not people who even knew they had it they were there for other ailments and were picked up during screening

The worrying thing about this virus is that people are walking around unaware that they have it as the symptoms are so mild for most vaccinated folk. If you had not visited your relative and done the flow test you probably would have been none the wiser.

They've never said the vaccine would stop you catching it though. It reduces the severity of the symptoms.

I've been totally floored for a week now with a chest infection away to start 2nd course of antibiotics. Was convinced it was covid as feel so bad. But negative pcr test.

So how close to hospitalisation are you. Are you feverishly ill? Or are you positively tested with some minor symptoms?

I have tested positive but have zero symptoms.

How do you know which variant you have? As far as I’m aware the results are only used for recording purposes and not given to those tested. It takes a few more days before the variant is known as the swab goes through further testing once a positive result is obtained.

Tired of it now. Was a firm believer in the science,double vaxxed, but when you hear the scaremongering that's getting thrown about I'm now in the camp of they haven't a clue what they are doing. Double vaxxed won't help against omicron but the booster will magically improve your chances to 75%. It's going to be a tsunami,hospitals are going to be overrun,etc but early reports (and they are very early,not denying that) from SA say that it is very transmissible but nowhere near as dangerous.

There is no new Omicron vaccine made yet, they are hoping third shot with original vaccines will still work reasonably well but double dose does not seem very effective against Omicron, hence the government panic.

Absolute must watch documentary on BBC2 about the Covid-19 pandemic, tomorrow night at 9.00pm. Two brothers from the Wuhan Research Centre, where Trump suspects it was engineered, were due to get on Flight MH370 that mysteriously disappeared. It seems they were the guys behind the development of the new strain, and intending to use it as a weapon. Someone caught wind of their plans and purposely downed the plane. BUT... neither of them got on the flight and no-one knows what happened to them. It's really interesting....

The damage of the government measures to the economy far exceeds the impact of this so variant. Why such panic??? Over 40% are already boostered and 82% double vaxxed. Yes - Humoral (antibody) immunity wanes after 6 months but they are hiding that the vaccine is highly effective via T cell and natural killer cell response (adaptive immunity). They are also very coy on reporting age of those dieing and died due to covid vs died with covid (extremely different).

Curious how an identifical mutational covid variant evolves to have a 100% identifical genetic code in multiple regions across the world with absolutely no link to South Africa. What are the chances mathematically by random chance of that? Can we trust the government?

I was about to make a post on this subject (of sorts) my question is more what and why do folk think the govts around the world are taking imo such strange measures. Do people believe its about public safety or some other reason?

My opinion the govts couldn't care less about you other than to use you for their means the whole measures they seem to be employing is to generate fear to cause the populace to do self imposed "lockdown" where it appears to me they want it you wake up go to work return home and don't leave until work time again.

I will not in anyway be engaging in this one second longer i intend to live what's left of my life and not be controlled by morons generating fear.

Disaster capitalism. Using the pandemic (I'm undecided what I believe on how that in itself came about i.e natural/man made etc). But I fully believe the Government are using it to their advantage now. Whether it's small scale nepotism in awarding contracts for PPE, or, as I think we may see, privatising health care after the NHS cripples under the pandemic.

We only need to look at who benefitted after Hurricane Katrina, 9/11, Sri Lankan tsunami, and how they did it, to realise that whilst Covid is real, and we should be careful, the Government are not acting in the best interest of Joe Public.

In my opinion.
