Potted Haugh always comes into ma mind on holiday, usually trip to butchers first day back, followed by a visit to bakers for a couple of well fired rolls.

The best thing ever is stovies from night before sitting in its own juices with a few slices of buttered plain bread after a freezing winters night. Just hits the spot.

Clappy Doos were great, shame they are rare now.

Scottish seafood was a main employer from small villages all around the coast line.

From haddys to mackerel not forgetting the silver darlings

A fish tea is tradition down the water.

Scotland has the most fantastic natural ingredients in the world, beef, lamb, pork, fish, seafood, veg, fruit, game birds, poultry, venison. I could go on and on.

It's entirely up to the individual and the way they cook it as to whether it is heart warming gourmet or heart stopping grease.

I know I can go a couple of miles in any direction and buy the finest of produce but make a bowl of slop if I didn't know what I was doing with it.

Not all of Scotland survives on tatties mince and dough-balls every day.

nom nom was origianly used by north american indians whilst the chiefs used yum yum, thereafter the cookie monster adopted it nom nom

You are forgetting the classics tho. Deep fried pizza and deep fried mars bar. Only in Scotland can you have these delicacies. Lol. Best restaurant I have been to is the three chimneys in dunvegan. Excellent food there and local sourced.
