Being recently single, I've decided that I want to be as honest to myself and others as possible - hence my detailed profile.

4 unconnected friends now know my sexual inclinations and it's so lovely to be open and honest with them. One even then felt able to tell she had had a FMM experience in the past and you could see the sparkle in her eyeing! I appreciate many here can't live thier lives as openly. But I'm just wondering if others out there have told vanilla friends and how they've reacted.

Any regrets or words of caution?

A few of our friends know that we go to clubs and like to watch/be watched.

They had the same seedy ideas that we had when we first started out so it’s good to let people know it’s not what they think.

Absolutely. I was in a cab on Saturday and God knows why but we were momentarily talking about The Crankies. I said, 'Oh there was always something creepy about that pair'. The cabbie said 'Yer, they're swingers'. My response was 'That's nothing wrong with that - rather a man hanging out with a woman dresses as a school boy....'.

He shot me a glance in the rear view morrow.

A fair few people know about our lifestyle, friends and some family. If someone asks we don't lie about it, but there are certain people we'd rather not have the conversation with. It's also not public knowledge because then we'd be "that couple", since we still live in a society that believes sexually active people should be frowned upon lol

A handful of friends and family know, reactions were very positive and encouraging. It started because I was letting a friend know where I was going (safety reasons) then I told a couple more.

I don’t mind people knowing though dont go out of my way to tell people. Wouldnt tell my sons as they really wouldnt want to know

But we do - certain tattoo either on the inside of the wrist and sometimes on a female ankle. More European known than UK known. Sure google can help more.

My very best friends know, as we're very open with each other and enjoy healthy discussions about our sex lives/lives in general. They're all mostly in relationships and don't swing but are very supportive and non judgemental.

From a safety standpoint aswell its a comfort to have friends I can count on and can let them know where I am if need be.

Can understand others wanting to keep things to themselves, everyone's different.

To my knowledge no-one that I am close to knows other than my ex-fiancé (on very good terms) who has hidden our couples profile for now.

Knowing the friends I have, whilst most are genuinely kind and decent people, they would want to know who I’ve met etc which would not only break the trust of the other person but it would right get on my tits quickly.

Blimey, the messages I get being like “hey man you met ….. was she a good ride” are flippin irritating enough

I’m pretty open about my sexuality and preferences as well as being in the bdsm scene 25 years but I have friends who are into the same scene or open minded. I don’t think I could go back to living in the closet about my lifestyle but I would never out anyone or mention what happens between me and another in detail. I try to live by the mantra no shame no guilt ( as long as it’s consensual adults)

Oh and many people on here would be considered part of the lgbtqia+ rainbow

We were supposed to keep it a secret but at a new year party my gf told her two close friends.

Both were supportive and intrigued and one of them was suppose to come to CJs with us. On the night she pulled out then deleted her fab account. A few weeks later we found out she told everyone and showed them pics from Mrs solo account so we had to change her name and make the pic's less recognisable

I told some of my pals what we're in to but none of them really care and dont ask about it. One did say he would like to but couldn't share his wife

We have told two couples of our best friends. They were ok with it, asked some sensible questions and I don't think it changed anything in our relationships with them. I (mr) have also told a female friend, who was interested and generally ok as well. So it looks like our friends are quite accepting. I don't see any reason to speak about it with anyone else.

As much as no one likes to share details about their sexual life, I personally think it’s a good idea to let at least one person you trust know for safety. As me and E normally message and say “I’m meeting such and such at and where”

I’ve only ever told women that I am going to be or might be intimate with (no details) except for one local woman who was hitting on me big time. We were friends but I wasn’t interested in a relationship with her (mad as a brush) and I though telling her would put her off me. Kinda worked but she was intrigued rather than a runner.
