Lol like I say JLS is not personal preference, taking a teenager to see them! I get a couple of days in Glasgow though so silver linings and all that!

Excited for Jimmy Carr though, never seen him live and cannot wait!!

Somewhere over there

We have rescheduled gig of Whitesnake headlining with Foreigner & Europe as support next year.

Plus my friend treating me (as birthday gift) next summer to Queen + Adam Lambert! I wasn’t sure about him but on seeing the documentary of how they got together and Brian & Rogers’ thoughts on him think it’ll be a great gig.

Was seated up the back last time, and we were up and down to let latecomers in and folks in and out the row to go to the bar or the toilet through pretty much every song until our section almost emptied after Dignity. Had ticket for Perth and returned it due to the covid situation at the time and lack of mask wearing and then Scottish Govt made mask wearing at gigs compulsory a few days before that gig! My favourite live band... did have a look at standing tickets.

I’m so jealous of you all

There are things I’d like to go to but my tastes generally don’t match those of my local friends and family

Be nice to have someone to go stuff like this with just as friends/companion

I like standup comedy, musical theatre, live music, cultural theatre (this is the hardest one to find a companion for - the serious stuff)

If anyone is up for buddying up drop me a line.

Upcoming events i fancy possibly are :

Russell Kane

Sarah millican

Jason Manford

Kevin bridges

Would love to try the glee club

I find myself in much the same boat tbh but I'd gotten to the point of having missed so many shows by not going that I thought, stuff it, why shouldn't I? Been to loads of gigs now over the past 20 odd years on my own and so glad I have as I've gotten into conversation and shared drinks with some great folk from all over the world.

Can totally understand you being wary on your own though. As most gigs are in Glasgow, and even though I know my around, I tend to stay overnight and will always try to find a hotel close to the venue. Oddly enough I've never had any bother in Glasgow and always had a great time everywhere I've been. Aberdeen is a different story!! Hate going there!!

I feel very safe in glasgow funnily enough it’s more a concern about looking like a weird no mates than anything! Esp in a comedy club wouldn’t want the comedian picking on me for that

That's exactly what I used to think but it's more common these days so stop thinking it's weird. Would I have liked company at all those gigs? Sure, but I enjoyed myself every bit as much without it. The comedy club thing, yeah I get that, there's nothing worse than being singled out under a spotlight in front of everyone but the odds are fairly slim I'd reckon? Just shout back that the best date you've ever had is hidden in your handbag
