Dumfries and Galloway club??

If I was to look at opening a club in this area, would there be the demand. What’s your thoughts?

More clubs are a great idea, however your location would be a major factor.

I don't know the border towns that well so I can't say if there will be I high demand.

Is it easy accessible by transport links?

Do you have the money to invest and sustain?

It is very easily accessible by transport. I already own the property. It would need considerable investment but could be added to and improved over time.

i find it very easy so access a wide area, the roads are mainly 60mph and rarely gridlocked, will it be dumfries side or further afield?

Your talking about having the club in a residential property, would you face objections from neighbours and locals?

Setting up an official club requires the usual goverment bodies being notified, same as any new business start up.

Have you contacted them to see if your idea is feasible?

As some said above, accessibility.

Would the property have decent parking for patrons, is the club accessible from transport links like trains and busses.

Is the property in an area of local pubs and restaurants?

Are you going to modify the premises for disabled access?

There are a few thing to look into before you start throwing money at the idea. I'm all for new clubs and I totally admire you taking on such a task.

Get the foundations right, and building a success is the easy part.

With a name like yours, I'm sure you will have thousands of people looking to meet you. Most will be carrying weapons though. The perils of mistaken identity I guess.

That seems to be the biggest issue. Looking at the UK mapping of clubs this area is a bit bare. As you said, could be population number

As a dumfries local i doubt people would really use it locally. Far too small a town/area where everyone knows someone who knows you etc..

I agree with the last point... rather than throwing money at something that may not work try something simple and cheap.

Try a big social in the area and see how many people attend. It would give you an idea and give others a chance to meet over drinks.

Being local we wouldn’t go to one in Dumfries.

As mentioned the town isn’t what it used to be either. It’s quite far out of the way from everywhere else.

I’d recommend Carlisle instead if you were looking to open one
