Most dating apps are shite, with the same people on them as on here.

Fab may be dated and have its flaws but it’s my preferred social platform. I know some folk say it’s a fuck site, for some it is (it is for me too on occasions) but primarily it’s a way for me to meet and chat to people both via forums and private messages.

Some of my best pals I’ve met through fab.

At least there is no pretence with Fab as opposed to the dating sites. Have put my name down for the Glasgow social & very excited! Just need to sort the hotel

Socials are a great way of meeting people. The Glasgow organisers put a lot of time and attention into their socials. I’ve never been to a bad night arranged by the butterflies. You are welcome to come and sit/stand/dance/pass polo mints orally, with us x

I've put my name down for the social on 11 Sept. I'm so looking forward to it as I've not had a good night out in such a long time!

Shangri-la

I abandoned the dating sites a long time ago, primarily because I have absolutely no desire to date. Currently not actively looking for anything on here either, just focusing on 'real' friends & having a laugh on the forums on here instead.

Glasgow

As a newbie to glasgow (a few years ago now). I’ve met some diamonds on fab who I’m grateful to call friends.

Not like my vanilla friends though, friends I can bounce my durtiest thoughts to and not be judged

Those kind of friends are rare but there are gems to be found on this site. It’s a bit like shopping at TK Max…… you need to sift through the stuff nobody wants first to find the good stuff

That's a great way to describe Fab! I'm definitely looking at exploring the social side of Fab more. Especially as nights out are a rarity for me these days.

Dating sites and this site are similar I think if you're looking for social life in that if you're trying to have private convo then you need to have some sort of attraction for someone to even speak to you lol.

Least with forums, it's a bit more open and fun. I don't think I'd stick around on here if it wasn't for them.

The forums are a great way of getting to know people. I never last long in the chat rooms…. I think I have the attention span of a gnat these days lol

I had my last date the other week & I’m done doing things that bring me no joy. Like you say…. Focus on real friends, real connections

It's also very cliquey in there! Forums definitely seem more relaxed and chill. Have you tried Hinge or Bumble?

Visiting Scotland

I’m definitely looking to expand on the social side. Especially finding friends who won’t negatively judge me being on here (I’m a young widow - people are watching me like a hawk to see if I’ve met someone new/moved on etc).

I’m at a wedding the night of the Glasgow social, which I’m gutted about as I was determined to pluck up the courage to go.

I’d love to expand my social circle but it’s not easy!!! If anyone wants to chat ping me a message!! I’d even be up for a bit of travel to meet up for a good night/weekend. I find it really hard to make new friends at my age, everyone seems to be married/attached or have their set social groups.

I agree, all my friends have settled down. Finding single people with similar interests that can/want to go out for a meal/drinks is impossible! Hence heading along to a social next month. This is so far out of my comfort zone but its the only way I can think of to meet new people.

Sexytown, Moray

I have always been a social fabber and have, as others said, met some of my closest friends through here. I have recently relocated to Moray from South England and am looking to host local socials up here as I did in London.... I feel it is a great way to meet others from the same lifestyle, be able to exchange stories and experiences in a safe and relaxed environment.

Edinburgh (She/Her)

If you want to get the best out of FAB you have to treat it as it is intended, a community and resource website for swingers.

Networking and social interaction with like minded individuals give you meaning and a sense of purpose.

It allows individuals to expand.

FAB is a hobby like any other.

You join a club meet others make friends, go round their house and build a train set, okay Fuck in this instance but you get the jist!

Socialising and networking, I believe, is far more rewarding in the long run.
