So where were the big names at this event? A bit let down that the big guns were not present ... kinda shame on you really ...

Glory hunters come to mind ...

3 of the 'big names' were at the opening ceremony. No excuses but for example athlethes who have CP and doing extra work before the start of there event will have extra more severe nerve/muscle spasms.

As a disabled person i'am really excited by the para games.

Thing that was annoying was fact it was a commercial TV channel with adverts that was broadcasting it - and their anchor in the studio knew as much about sport as - well as much as a virgin knows about 50 shades - OK bad analogy but you get my drift!

also felt the actual cameras were fewer than at the Olympics.

oh and some of the commentary about countries was doom n gloom war n economics n politics - not exactly inspirational "Spirit in Motion".

I think the games will be great.

Well done to all the Paralympians who made it into to the team. I will be cheering on Team GB!

I should clarify, i wasnt talking about the amazing athletes i was kinda talking about the opening ceremony, where was Paul Mc Cartney The perv George Micheal and all the others that were so keen to do the big olympics for nothing but to showcase there careers but for this one? errr who was there? Shocking i think as i believe these can be and will be just as important!

Couldn't agree more. I have a friend who is in the Irish squad who used to be a great GAA football player until he had a spinal injury...he has worked bloomin hard to get fit to compete in the paralympics. In most cases they have to work harder and be more determined than able bodied athletes..
