Edinburgh bars for a couple like us?

So, going to be in Edinburgh weekend 21st/22nd of August. Got a hotel, going out for dinner.

But for after, curious if folk have any recommendations for bars/pubs/clubs a couple like us should visit... could be nice to meet some new people too

Based on your profile I would say the gay quarter would be up you street.

"The street" is funky. You have "planet" and then "CCs".

"7 lanes" is newly opened to.. amongst others.

What part of the town are you staying or having dinner at? What kinda place do you prefer to have drink ins?

We'll be staying in a hotel at the west end of princes Street, dinner on George Street, so right in the middle of town really.

We quite like to get cocktails rather than a pint i suppose. But if there is somewhere where there could be likeminded or people even vaguely interested in this sort of thing, we'll head there.

West end and west end village / George street / rose street has a pletherer of bars and restaurants.

Cocktails and all. Generally main stay people of all ages.

George street is more up themselves. Rose street more jeans and t shirt.

You are based at the west end. The gay quarter is at the east end of princess street. 10min walk or short taxi ride.

That is where to colourful people are.
