I know most people think of themselves as normal but fuck me, if you’re not on a date site you are lucky. See trying to find someone with no issues, hang ups or clinging to a past is almost fucking impossible. Im giving up ??

That's called modern life... it's a bawbag ain't it!

At my age I would hate to be in the generally dating pool now, it is a complete fucking minefield.

So I do not envy anyone who is looking for that special one to settle down and grow old and grey with...

To be fair though and back to this modern life thing again. So many things have changed in the dating game, is a single monogamous relationship the standard anymore.

Perhaps modern humans have broke away from the whole Religion, find the one, settle down, marriage, house, 2 point 4.

Perhaps we are in a phase were we are less tolerant with partners and do not work on relationships as we once did... are we selfish to want perfection.

Perfection is a myth. Perfection can never be reached. Or can it..

Perhaps it is a more poly dynamic where you can love multiple partners at the same time.

Where you can have the perfection thorough having pieces of different individuals to make that perfection.

We are in a transition between old values and a new more open freedom to express your relationship.

A happy medium needs to be reached where all can find love....

I agree with Amelia but what do you expect at your age. Life is for living which means both good and bad experiences. It’s what forms our character for better or worse and usually there’s a big dollop of both. I’m sure you have your own “baggage” but maybe you don’t see that, people are not always good at seeing their own faults. Then again perhaps Lady Luck has smiled on you and you've been blessed with a trouble free life. Nonetheless I wish you luck OP, sometimes love happens when you least expect it

By way of contributing… agree somewhat on the dating game it’s a challenge if you’re looking for long term commitment and full time relationships, I know I’ve got issues I don’t like being tied into relationships I accept that now so I make it pretty clear from the get go so as not to disappoint..

We all got issues and that’s what makes us all interesting… in my view at least..

I have absolutely no baggage, my boy is his own self, I have no worries, I love who I am, I see normal people turn weird, no ex’s, divorced, nice home, car, job, life is good. Would just like to date, maybe I am different from the rest ??

Maybe your issue is that you expect too much and that everything in your garden is rosie whilst not appreciating or understanding that it isn’t as rosie for everyone. Just a thought

Got to agree with some of the comments above .

I too have met a few who just love to blame others for stuff they have created themselves.

Sometimes you need a good hard look in the mirror to see your own imperfections rather blaming others for theirs.

You'd need to be damn near perfect to criticise others!

We all have lived a life that no one on here or dating sites knows about so let people deal with stuff in their own way.

The he said she said stories hold nothing for me unless I've seen it with My own eyes or heard it with my own ears then I won't spread it with my bug fat mouth
