When you get a message

Delete it, obviously not interested.

Reply, might be interested.

What about read but no reply? Do you plan on replying at a later time? or is it you are having a think? Help! Lol

Often it depends on the message and if the person has read our profile fully.

Other times it may be waiting till we both see it

It would depend on what the message said. If it was something crude then it's a delete and block. Otherwise I reply and say thanks but no thanks x

If we read it & don't reply it's because we don't think it's worth replying to. It could be because it's just a "hi", or because someone keeps sending the same message, usually after we've already said no thanks. If that happens 3 times, we just block.

We leave it there might be interested in future and also because if they msg again the previous msg also shows, catches alot of guys out because you think they have actually made an effort with a msg you will be amazed how many guys use copy and paste over and over again.

Poster below (now above) has answered part of that. As it's a couple profile we aren't always together when we read messages so they are left for the other to see too.

It completely depends, most of the time of its a decent message it's getting a reply, but I get distracted lots and lots of folk block you if you don't reply instantly

Yep, pretty much this.

On the very rare occasion a message captures my interest I will reply & see if a conversation develops. It's a rare occurrence though.

Sometimes i nip on for a nosey on the forums while i'm at work and if i see a message that looks interesting i don't always have the time to reply there and then. Especially if the person is still online as they will expect a conversation so it's easier to come back to it later. Delete means not interested though.

Interesting messages, I like to think about and spend quality time responding to. This may take a few days due to general life commitments. Alot of the time messages are answered on a Saturday morning when I Soak in a bath.

That exactly! Mostly people don't read our profile. We state what we want for example height is a big thing. We don't reply.

The reason is that as soon as we do reply its like a green light for a conversation that we don't want. Only for the same people to approach a week or so late witb the same message.

Obviously there’s various though similar thoughts on the matter but the site rules state a non response should be taken as a polite no thank you.

It would be good if this could be underlined to those joining somehow as it would save people “wondering” and also avoid getting either pestered by those who take any response as an indication of interest or accusations of rudeness because messages are “ignored or deleted”.
