Favourite Scottish island?

Over there

I'm fortunate enough to be visiting a few this summer and autumn - three different trips to inner and outer Hebrides.

So what's your favourite island, and where should I be pedalling to 'off the beaten track'..?

Over there

I've one trip that should see me on Arran, Jura, Islay, Colonsay and Oronsay.

Another that's South Uist, Benbecula, North Uist, Berneray, Lewis & Harris, Scalpay and Great Bernera.

Finally some Skye and Raasay in the autumn.

I'm feeling rather excited. Now I just need a FWB who likes bikes to join me #perfection

"Watching with interest. Might have a wee multi island trip in the summer if I can pull off the planning"

I did 4 of the inner Hebridean islands in a week last summer (thankfully it was a week we could all travel), and even managed to get some good weather.

If you're cycling, Outer Herbrides and Arran are brilliant.

Arran is nice. If you're cycling look at the CalMac website, they used to do a range of 'island hopper' tickets. Basically a set of one-way tickets allowing you to link a variety of places. For example, Ardrossan to Brodick, then you can cycle to Lochranza, another ferry to Clonaig, then ride south to Campbelltown or north to Lochgilphead. Worth a look if you're planning a multi day trip.
