This has made me so happy today.

Sad to be reading all the negative comments around it from others though.

Will you attend?

I think it will be on a much smaller scale and it would be great if with less tourists more local people (who may usually avoid it) were able to enjoy it.

"I think it will be on a much smaller scale and it would be great if with less tourists more local people (who may usually avoid it) were able to enjoy it."

It’s not meant for locals none of the things in Edinburgh are, Christmas market is the same.

It’s funny how our boarders are meant to be shut at moment yet I was out walking today and the castle esplanade was busy with tourists! and so it begins.

I think these things are what you make them. Sometimes they can be hard work for people living close by but I think it brings so much to our economy, provides jobs to many people and opportunities for performers at home too.

I do see both sides though.

As I said it’s not about the residents, and gets more obvious every year, take for instance the whole debacle at new year the other year when you had to apply to get passes so you could have visitors if you lived in certain streets round the centre. Absolute farce.

Well I’m speaking of experience of having to live in the city centre.

I'm a great fringe fan but have very mixed feelings about it. I won't be visiting this year for sure.

I'm performing in it this year so if you are looking for a show....actually very surprised we are back on and quite sceptical about how it is going to work. But also very excited to be doing live theatre again.

Somewhere over there

Whilst it would be good to see the Fringe, my interest is in the Ray Harryhausen exhibition that’s on in the National Galleries which has just launched.

Love his stop-motion work and he influenced a lot of film makers.

Thinking of booking an overnight to Edinburgh at some point but as the exhibit runs till 2022, no rush

Millie

I didn't know about this, thanks for mentioning it, one I'll have to check out!

I won't be visiting the Fringe this year, it gets SO human traffic-heavy, and it's far too soon for that in my opinion.

I'm excited because I'm performing this year. Terrified too but mostly excited. I think it will likely look very different to previous years x

Surely it’s a positive thing it’s going ahead? Things are moving in the right direction. We Can’t live couped up in our houses, working from home forever.

Need to look up what’s on and see what availability there is.

Always enjoy going through for the festival, even if I go alone, the atmosphere is great
